So I searched and found a few threads about putting a 22 gallon Dakota fuel tank in a Comanche but all were 97-up swaps(which I plan on doing in the future) for right now I still need the use of my truck and my fuel tank is leaking(rust, I pulled it this morning) was thinking of going ahead and install a Dakota tank, how much trouble will it be to adapt it to work in my 1992 2.5L ? Would it be worth the trouble or should I just get a new stock tank? Thanks

I must have missed something somewhere... :thwak:

What if you could build a brand new Jeep Comanche?
HKB3 replied to beepbeepmyredjeep's topic in The Pub
Full frame D60s F/R high pinion air or electric lockers 4bta NV4500 Long Arms 35" tires Blah, blah Actually I'd just be happy with a brand new 1991/1992 MJ -
What size tires? And are those 17" wheels? Thanks

Finally got it in my garage, going to start "tinkering" with this week. First thing on the to-do list is sort my brake issue, one wheel is sticking on the passenger side. Next on the list is electrical bugs, the radio and gauge lights worked until I tried to get the dome lights to work... I just want to keep in usable until I finish some projects around the house then I will start the 4wd/4.0L swap, I still have not decided to do the trendy 97-up swap or keep it old school.

Had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. seller on craigslist had a 91 4.0 4x4 MJ for $1500. I was the first caller and had cash in my pocket, seller tells me they are going out of town till Sunday and would call me as soon as they got back home. So I think all is good then Saturday I get a message telling me the truck was sold, I was like WTF!?! so I call them back and they say "oh we sold the truck to a friend". It just turned back up on CL this week for $3900....

Learned that I need a new battery and I have a few other electrical related issues.

How are you going to know you pumped exactly 10 gallons? Unless you are pumping into a marked container you are at the will of what the pump reads. Getting off topic here but ethanol is the worst additive the "gov't" decided to push....

You should check out garagejournal.com Everything you did not know about garages and more. BTW I just found lights for my garage at the local big orange box store (homodepot). http://homedepot.digby.com/homedepot/product/detail.do?itemId=202193185&categoryId=&path=

Major Electrical Issue... BE AFRAID!!!
HKB3 replied to pilecenturyfarm's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I know this may sound out of line but are you sure the fuel pump works? I went through a similar thing with a mustang when I first started driving after going over anything and everything it turned out the fuel pump just quit. -
http://www.marylandjeepclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=23726 This MJ used to be mine, I sold it to this guy a while back.

Keeping it stock is a novel idea but stock is boring and we are not talking about a numbers matching big block camaro or hemi cuda here. I'll have the VIN later this week when I bring it home. Think of this project as a resto-mod.

I haven't posted on here in a while since I sold my last MJ. Today I scored another MJ I found on craigslist; a one owner 1992 2wd 5speed swb 2.5L. It came with the original window sticker and paperwork. Here are a few pics from the seller It has the cleanest factory interior I have ever seen in a used MJ. I have BIG plans which include 4wd swap, lift, axles, oh yeah a 4bt too. Look for a build thread coming soon(this is going to be a loooong term project). PS. Not responseable for spelling errors as I am posting from a dumb phone with auto correct.

washed it

you know an XJ windshield is the same as the MJ(may be easier to locate)

don`t think so  , I have seen the seat brackets go for WAY more then that

*this is not a for sale add, just feeler for value* I have a pair of bucket seats from a 92 MJ grey in color, what would a fair price would be I I were to put them up for sale? also have a near perfect rear bumper/class 3 hitch same deal, what is a fair price? I am considering selling the bumper/hitch because I am building a custom one with a tire carrier(stay tuned for a build thread) and planning to move in the next 3-6 months. The seats I am considering selling because they are not that friendly to my back, also will have a black bench for sale after I get my new seats mounted. thanks

a little soap & water should be on the top of your list

Now I know why Comanches are being sold for so much
HKB3 replied to dasbulliwagen's topic in The Pub
it don`t matter if it is a yugo or a rolls royce its only worth what someone is willing to pay. Just because it has a $xxxx price tag does not mean its worth $xxxx  -
well the problem is that the wiring is cut so far inside the dash it is hard to work with, who ever installed the current radio just sloppily ran different wires(not connected to the factory wires). I am anal about wiring so I decided to rip it all out & start over fresh with the factory wiring. I would think if I pull the gauge cluster I will have better access to the wiring harness.
-
tried searching with no luck, I picked up a new radio for my MJ( it already has/had an aftermarket radio) so I pulled out the current radio to find a hack job spaghetti wiring nightmare(the original factory plug has been cut off). So I want to replace the factory harness so I can install the new radio plug & play. How tough is it to replace the harness? I can get the wiring from an XJ at the local pick&pull but with the recent weather (100+ temps) I don`t much feel like going and wanted to know what I am getting myself into. Thanks

looking for some info on using the late model windshield rubber molding. How & what did you have to do to use it? thanks

that thing has more "peel" then a bushel of sunkist oranges I guess they never heard of "cut & buff"? that truck may be worth 5k to 6k tops...I think they need to step away from the pipe  :rotfl2:
