  1. My wifes uncle works with Frank, Vicki's husband. Have met Frank once but thats about it. I worked with Vicki and Frank another lifetime ago when I was in college...was pretty good friends with them and used to come up for a home cooked meal every now any then...no funny business involved...
  2. Interesting. The only twins that I can think of from that time that fit the description, would be the Alvis twins. But they are much older than me. I'm sure nothing has changed in woodbine since you were here last. That's them... Now you make me feel old, cause they are my age...I still chat with Vicki who lives back there now...not sure how long she's been back...
  3. Are you referring to the TJ tank? I am pretty sure they were somewhere around 15 gallons. Willy On TJ's - 15 or 19 depending on which option you got...almost all I've seen have been 19 gal
  4. I got friends that live(d) in Woodbine... I used to drive up from Omaha to visit them... I think one of the twins moved back to Woodbine with her Husband a few years ago... Dad was a cop a few years ago, but I think retired now. I *was* a Nebraska kid, but moved to Cali just over 10 years ago.
  5. You're not trying hard enough. IE apparently doesn't share cookies with Firefox ... (hint) ...or Safari, or Opera, or Google Chrome...on 3 or 4 different PC's... Just ask JT's Gal....
  6. What's wrong with aliens :hmm: Dude, you friggin crack me up. Have you ever seen Real Genius with Val Kilmer? You're like Laslo. You just quietly and unpredictably show up out of the closet, make a quick appearance with a comment or two, and then disappear back in to the closet for awhile. Hilarious. Perfect analogy
  7. Commenting on a "vote for my chick" thread... really JT?? really???
  8. How is that possible? I thought rust was illegal in California... :???: I thought so too... This truck must have taken a road trip at some point and run into some of the wrong crowd...
  9. Flipped it off, cursed at it like a drunken sailor and wiped all the "leak detecting" Baby powder off the floor boards so I can drive it to work tomorrow
  10. I was thinking the same thing about the "expanding foam" suggestion...although not sure I'll get a caulking gun into that cowl area very well for the other stuff.... but $3.50 a tube shipped free 2 days from Amazon.com is worth a try... Now I just need to decide if I'm just going to go over the top of the rust that's there or what...don't think I can cut and patch, POR15 is a possibility I guess...maybe just a patch of steel to fit inside the cowl area and underneath and use that seam sealer stuff to attach it?
  11. I sealed most of those grommets already with RTV when I was first looking for the leaks (before I found the rust spot up under the firewall insulation). Sucks that I can't really even start taking my Wiper arms and stuff out cause we got rain for the next few days and the TJ is sort of still not done (got a crappy China Warranty replacement unit bearing from OMIX/AlloyUSA, so I'm going back to 27 spline with a new outer stub and 27 spline Timkin Hub Bearing assembly). One of the guys in my club suggested this, has anyone heard of this stuff? "I had a leak in a hard to get spot on my old runner. I thought about cutting and welding but then came up with a new plan. I went down and got some of that caulking/sealer that comes from the factory on all new cars were there is a seam. I'm not talking about silicone. It's the stuff that when cured is like steal and is paintable. I got it from a body shop supply place, can't remember the name. Only get it were you want it or you'll never get it off. Have fun." another suggestion from my club "Wade, You're right, there isn't too many ways to get into that spot. If the dash was out, it would be accessable, but that's a big job. Taking the fender off wouldn't help unless it's rusted there also and from the pictures, it isn't. My suggestion would be to use a can of expanding foam insulation and fill that end of the cowl with it and then trim to let the wipers work. You can get very limited access from the wiper compartment but it won't be easy to work on. Just clean it as best you can and go from there. "
  12. Thanks Guys...I don't know how you dudes live with Rust... I'm sick over this little spot (and I'm afraid it's going to be crazy hard to fix), I can't imagine having the rust problems many of you guys do...
  13. Sorry, misunderstood, I wasn't doubting you Wildman... so fixing this rust area most likely means yanking the entire dash to work from the inside since you really can't get that far over into the "open" cowl area on the driver side to do any cutting or patching
  14. I just took the cover off again... I don't see a rusted thru spot in the cowl area? Looks totally normal, and I know it drains more or less like it should since I stuck the hose down there last time I was looking for leaks. Possibly have to take that driver side fender off, or is that eve going to get me access to that rusted area?
  15. This big rust area is nowhere near the radio...its as far left under the dash as you can get... I've pulled the cowl cover and don't see a speck of rust inside that opening as far as I can see (although didn't pull the motor or anything).
  16. The "rust" pic is in the cab, up under the dash up under the driver side.. just above where the fuse box is...not sure what's on the other side of that horizontal piece...is the wiper motor up there?
  17. Update... I HATE my Truck right now... or at least the fact that it leaks like an old lady on a roadtrip... But I found at least part of the issue on the drivers side... Maybe I can shut my big ole hole about not having any rust, huh???? Any advice for how I'm going to fix this??? According to my "baby powder" detective work, it appears this spot right here is the culprit on the Passanger side...it looks like a foam gasket or base or something on this thing (what is that black thing that I'm looking at there anyhow).

I don't know squat about unions in any industry, so I can't comment on that part of this topics, but does anyone else have concerns about a foreign company, specifically European, having major influence over a US Automaker... I just can't imagine that what works for automakers in Europe will remotely work here. I've spent some time over there and it's a different world, literally, but also when it comes to consumer demands and needs from their Auto... I just can't imagine the CEO of Fiat is going to have a clue what will work in the US... I know it's more about having the staff around you that does, but sheesh, that hasn't worked very well over the past couple of decades either (with US run Auto company's)... I'm probably in the minority, but I think I'd rather see the US makers just fail and go away than to see Fiat take over and then run them into the ground anyhow because people in the US don't fit the model of those consumers in Europe... I mean I know the loss of all the jobs in the US will kill us, but I think a move like this is just prolonging the inevitable... I'd rather pull the bandaid off now when we are near the bottom than to start our recovery and then just take 2 steps back again in 12/18/24 months... I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again...and I have been drinking, and have annoying children that I'm watching for like the 100th night in a row (I'm exaggerating, but it seems like it), and working at a place this is going to have a 2nd round of big layoffs in a couple weeks where I don't know that I'm safe and we are sending all of our work to China, but I'm not bitter...
  19. Again??? Must not have hit reserve when it was up a few weeks ago (unless there were multiple...) Sw2
  20. Is there a part# Brent? or will they be in the help section? what size? Maybe whenever I get off my butt to do this, I'll take some pics of the process for a real write up. I havn't found many pics, but maybe it's like the easiest thing on earth and I'm just a tard (No comments Wahoo or JT).... Got a few more issues on the TJ (thought I was done), so the MJ, like usual, takes a back seat... Sw2
  21. Are those 3 bolts in the first pic drilled thru the cast knuckle? that seems a little sketchy to me...

  23. Thanks Brent... is there a Part # for the "fuel line quick disconnect o-ring replacement kits", or is this something I can get locally?
  24. I don't think I would admit using the screen name of "missjulie78" Even as a joke  :rotfl2: That's how I roll But the hand in those pics is obviously male'ish...or one hairy chick..
  25. My hand looks pretty sexy in those pics, huh... Just kidding... SW2
