  1. After some more research I am leaning toward ball joints.
  2. No pete, i worked last night and spent today ay the dentist then fighting with pay pal and capital one.
  3. I have a noise coming from the front driver side wheel area. It is kind of like a clicking/knocking (at 1st I thought my engine was knocking). The faster I go the faster the the noise; if I tap the brake, even if not hard enough to slow the truck, the noise stops. The FSM says possibly loose side gears in differential. I am also thinking possuibly u-joint. How do I check for loose side gears?
  4. I meant if you don't have a clock is the wiring and plug already in the dash? I want to add one to my truck. If no power after then it sounds like maybe a wire came loose or maybe a solder contact. Are any of the wires soldered to the contact board on the back of the clock?
  5. Is the plug already in the dash? so all you have to do is plug the clock in?
  6. 110 MPG is nice though
  7. Are you sure its his knee? he posted in his thread in the tech section about having chest pain and needing to go in for anti-biotics. Either way I hope its not serious.
  8. Mine was actually fixed at a garage. I brought it in for an inspection so they fixed that for it to pass. I'm pretty sure they didnt replace any wiring, just the socket. Try here for the socket: http://www.delcity.net/delcity/servlet/ ... 257&page=1
  9. For my year truck they cannot be reset. I'm not sure what year the cut off is. (I have an 89)
  10. I had this problem and had to replace the socket. That fixed it. Try that before you go digging into the electrical.
  11. I did a search but wanted to find the cheapest place and/or support a board sponsor.
  12. Thanks. How hard of a job is it to do the front axles? I have a FSM and a haynes manual. I have never done axles or u-joints before. I will probally start with the rear d-shaft first to get an idea on what I'm doing.
  13. I plan on using the blue on my valve cover bolts when I replace the gasket; will it be OK to use with the heat from the block?
  14. My 89 has a column shift and also has the notch in the bench seat.
  15. Which bolts do you use it on? and which color?
  16. And what size for the front axle? what size for drive shaft?
  17. Usually the only one that you need the pin nozzle for is the one in the cv joint.
  18. He has the zerk. There is a picture of it in the bag with the c rings in his first post. Why did your friend say to get more? There is only one per u-joint I believe.
  19. It looks like it might be an el camino bed on the back. You can see a white box like thing in it.
  20. I talked to a guy the other day who said that he had a strange noise and he described it kinda like yours and it turned out the bolts on his torque converter had come loose.
  21. Did you need to buy the wipe clips too? or could you reuse the old ones. These: http://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/parts/ ... /1874.html
  22. No noise foot on brake and in neutral Noise when foot on brake and in drive What engages in the tranny when you shift from neutral to drive?
  23. Did you use a torque wrench? I have the one with the long pin thing on it, not the kind you just set and it is too big to get in there. Is there anyway to run a long extension down from the top?
  24. Is this a grey kind of clear plastic thing? Yesterday I took part of my dash apart and when I put it back together I noticed The gray thing was now hanging down infront of my brake pedal. It also had a silver bracket attached to it but I couldnt see anywhere the bracket would mount to. If this isnt the EMT then what is it?
  25. Are you bleeding the rear height valve correctly? Is the brake booster bad? Does the brake light come on?
