  1. I picked this mirror and the outdoor ambient temperature sensor from a 2004 Chevy Suburban this morning. I touched the pink and black wires to the 12v battery, got an electrical burning smell, and immediately removed the wires. Needless to say, the mirror display never powered up. I found what I thought was a good wiring diagram online that showed the Pink as power and Black as ground. Any ideas on what went wrong and, assuming that I didn't fry the circuitry in the mirror, how can I wire this so I can use the outdoor temperature feature. Yes, I know that this is a Jeep forum, but perhaps someone better at wiring can put me on the right path.
  2. Ok, Salvagedcircuit, you already got yours, so how did you find them? Craigslist and eBay are very thin on decent rims for a decent price.
  3. I've read though the posts on restoring them and it seems like each wheel would take many. many hours. fiatslug87, what would be a more fair price?
  4. Got a lead on 5 Turbine rims with 4 center caps for $550. I haven't seen them in person yet, but the picture attached is a fair representation. Thought?
  5. From the Quadratec site, it says that it will not fit the MJ.
  6. Rylee, Are these parts that were sourced from MOPAR? I thought MJ's from the factory had the tow hooks welded on. Thanks
  7. I thought that was true, but just needed confirmation. Thanks
  8. I had factory tow hooks on my '88, but that was a long time ago. I see rugged ridge makes a kit for the XJ, but the listing says that it will not fit the MJ.
  9. Does anyone know the guy in CT who is selling this MJ? I've sent a couple of emails and no response.
  10. What years had the 9 blades? I'm assuming they come from XJ's.
  11. Does the different blade style provide more cooling? Is it plug and play?
  12. Hey, I recognize that truck! I replaced the upper control arms just after I got her, but otherwise the front end is fine.
  13. All good info, thanks. I saw a the exact tire size that I need recently on C/L, but the date code on the tire was 11 years old, so I passed. Not sure if it's a DOT law or regulation, but tire shops won't mount a tire older than 10 years.
  14. Makes perfect sense, thanks. I'll check the gauge of the wire and go by that. I still have the stock 60W headlights.
  15. Thanks Pete. Back to the drawing board.
  16. Good advise, thanks. I think I'll buy the C/L wheel and replace the tire with the correct size down the road. The rim itself is worth it.
  17. I have 4 Jeep Wrangler Moab rims (16x8) with LT265/75R16 tires without a spare. I found a C/L wheel from a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sport with the Moab rim, but with a P255/70R17 tire. https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/wto/d/foxboro-2017-jeep-wrangler-spare-wheel/7639219913.html Could I use this wheel as a spare? On an aside, yes, I would love to get a set of Turbines, but they're not easy to find in decent shape (or inexpensive).
  18. I'm not arguing. "Money trap" encompasses all the things that I've spent money on-not just the cooling system. I'll do the full conversion. Can anyone recommend a good DIY write-up?
  19. Cruiser54, This truck is a money trap!!! Is this a direct replacement or does it have a radiator cap?
  20. Would using the Prestone Flush Kit clear up most radiator clogs?
  21. Looks original. Why do you ask?
  22. Full of (easy) questions this morning... I added the Putco headlight wiring harness toi the MJ recently and want to add an in-line fuse to protect the harness. 1. What size fuse should I use? 2. Should I add a fuse to each red wire going back to the positive battery cable? And, yes, I ordered "better" relays to replace the crappy ones that come with the kit.
  23. I ran the MJ on a 50 mile highway trip yesterday on 88 degree heat, high humidity day and the temperature gauge increased slowly but hung around 230. It never got above that, but it was a little too close to the red for my liking. I've done my research and discovered that replacing the bottle with the 940 Volvo Turbo cap should help seal the system better, so I'll start there. Previous posts from many years ago say that the cap costs about $40. A Google search shows many caps for under $10. I found one on Amazon for $7.98; but want to be sure that I buy a good quality one. Any recommendations for where to get a good one?
  24. How much shipped to 02081 in Massachusetts?
