87 Diamond In The Rough But Still A Diamond!!
CWLONGSHOT replied to Hubbell's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Looks great!! Just for clarity, I measured the RUBY rims and they are 16x8 and 4.75 BS. I have a question: Since adding the spare to the very back. have you noticed any extra "bounce" or vibes after going over a bump? CW -
Got a gauge for my coolant temperature... CW

They are working just as they should. Same as the first set I put on the TJ some 6 years ago. That's the beauty of them, you take your tire/rim off the vehicle. Slide the centramatic on the wheel studs and follow it with the tire/rim. and drive... They work perfectly!! CW

The tips are simply parts store 2.5" "slash cut" tips. Nothing fancy at all. Because of my lift height, I was able to run a straight pipe from the muffler to the rear bumper. I pushed the whole system as tite to the body as possible. Partially by fitting the muffler angles. I kept them slightly under the bumper for protection. I made and positioned my own hangers. One solid mount at the cat, then a rubber mount just behind the muffler and another rubber mount just before the rear bumper. I too am worried about damage off-road. Hopefully I won't do any... They are not true duals as its a 6 cyl, but looks good from the back don't it! I did cheap out a bit and used the tip from the previous exhaust for the DS. (You can see its a bit dirty.) CW

Thanks guys!! Pete, The trailer was perfect! I even got 17MPG on the trip!!! We kept the speed to 65 max with the vast majority @ 60 MPH. I also got a couple pics from a buddie who was on the trail with me. Image Not Found Image Not Found This was the last obstacle before we quit for the day. Most locked LWB rigs made it up OK. ALL TJs and SWB rigs took a cable, accept me!! CW

Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found I got a couple pics form a buddie that was on the trail with me... This was a very NON SWB friendly climb. I was the only SWB jeep to make it unassisted! CW

I decided it sounded so good, it deserved duals... CW

WOW, No I did not!!! THANKS for showing me!! (I'm surprised at myself, I always look on EBay!!) I ordered a single "pod" from SUMMIT RACING. I also found a radiator cap temp gauge in it! So alt-ho I cannot see it while driving, I do have a secondary method to watch the temps. That's all I really wanted. For the 'pod' I will mount a volt meter. CW

I have the 4.6L FORD injectors and everything runs great. Noticed a improvement immediately in idle response and idle quality. No diff in performance and haven't been watching mileage. I'm still thinking you missed something. maybe some junk got into the injector bores. CW

Guys, I want to install a new 2" coolant temp gage as well as a 2" volt meter. I'm thinking a 2 hole pillar mount like I have seen on a few of your trucks. I need a hand finding the correct part that will fit the windshield pillar acceptably. Where did you get it? CW

There is a plug in the pan. Drain whats in the pan. (Its only a small portion of the total capacity) and refill to proper levels. Simply lo fluid levels will cause the problem you describe. Because of the relatively high temps the 4.0 runs (Most engines 180, the 4.0 is 210) at it causes the tranny fluid to break down faster. A flush, filter change and refill would be better. But try my suggestion and see what you get. Its a simple and inexpensive job. CW

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24327&p=249655#p249655 I should have just posted this here to begin with... This was a good time and something we all should be able to attend. The trails are open to any NEA member. Most clubs are NEA affiliated. We are seriously considering another trip here in there next coupole months. I'll post up when I know with about a months lead time. Hopefully some of you guys will be able to attend!!! We stay @ Shir-Roy camp ground in Richmond on RT 32. Wheel very close by. CW

The persons taking them decided that was how they should be.... There is only a few that I took myself... the Land Rover was me filming. I try to limit them to a minute or so for uploading ease. (They are pretty large files) CW

Sorry I cannot tell you this or that is your problem... Just to be clear, the motor ran perfectly before the injector swap? Now, since the swap it does not? NOTHING else was done? Go back and retrace everything you did, take nothing for granted. Check all plugs to the TB. CW

I have been chasing a electrical gremlin for a couple weeks... If the MJ sat for more than a couple days she wouldn't start. But will start with a jump. Occasionally if started and turned off in close succession it will turn over two to six times then stop. No click no start. But all lights, horn and radio work fine. After the jump the alt checks to be delivering just over 14V at idle. So the alt is fine. Pop found the neg cable clamp wasn't tight. I suspected the starter solenoid. I had a spare starter so I threw it in and changed the cable ends to new style "lead-less" connectors. Seems that was it as its been perfect for the past two days... Idle is perfect and smooth. It starts better and hasn't discharged since. I guess between the cable clamps and the starter solenoid I also checked the clamps on the exhaust... cause I herd a little rattle on the way to work this AM. Found my mid hanger was loose. While under there I threw a couple 1" welds on three sides of each joint from the 2.25-2.5 adapter at the cat to the turn down at the rear bumper. CW

KEEP THIS ONE GOING AND GOING AND GOING...... TILL NOVEMBER 2010 AT LEAST. GRRRRRRRRRR....! I'm MAD AND YOU WILL BE TOO! Your U.S. House & Senate have voted themselves$4,700 and $5,300 raises. 1. They voted to not give you a S.S. cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011. 2. Your Medicaid premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years and you will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr. Your total 2-yr loss and cost is -$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and wife 3. Over 2-yrs The House & Senate each get $10,000 raises 4. Do you feel SCREWED? 5. WILL your cost of drugs - doctor fees - local taxes - food, etc., increase? You better believe they will! WILL THEIRS...NO WAY . They have a raise and better benefits. Why care about you? You never did anything about it in the past. You're obviously too stupid or don't care. No offense; just making a point! 6. Do you really think that Nancy , Harry , Chris , Charlie , Barnie, et al, care about you? SEND THE MESSAGE-- You're FIRED. IN 2010 YOU WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO GET RID OF THE SITTING CONGRESS AND Up to 1/3 OF THE SENATE, AND 100% OF THE HOUSE. MAKE SURE YOU'RE STILL MAD IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND TELL THEIR REPLACEMENTS NOT TO SCREW UP. It is ok to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse. Maybe it's time for the........ Amendment 28 "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ." Let's get this passed around, folks - these people in Washington have brought this upon themselves!!! It's time for retribution. Let's take back America . If you don't forward this to all your friends you're just part of the problem of national apathy. IT'S TIME!!!!!!! JUST DO IT! LET'S GET IT DONE ! CNN is showing some anger CNN NEWS, not Fox -- You will not believe this!!! It just keeps getting better..... > This is unbelievable!!! > We KNEW this was going to happen. (That way Obama wasn't lying when he said illegals would not be able to get medical coverage under his Obama Care plan. His simple fix is to make them all legal first... and could this have anything to do with slanting the vote in 2010 & 2012....?) > > EVERY ONE--PLEASE TAKE TIME TO LISTEN TO THIS--IT TELLS ABOUT THE BILL GOING THRU CONGRESS RIGHT NOW REGARDING IMMIGRATION. > > EVEN CNN IS GETTING UPSET ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!!! > > Pass it on after you watch it. REMEMBER, THIS IS FROM CNN, NOT FOX!!! > > Click on this link !!! > http://d.yimg.com/kq/groups/17260182/16 ... c-vi26.wmv > > This 3-minute video should be mandatory viewing for every US citizen. If you have never passed anything on before, pass this on! Every American should be outraged! > In God we trust

starting problem

DBL check all battery cables. If nothing found there, search NSS or Neutral Safety Switch cleaning... CW -
My fifth tire, (spare) arrived and I washed the MJ. I went wheeling with the TJ in new Hampshire with my local club JONFUND. I have about 40 clips... Only a couple of me. I still have about 25 to load as of 10PM so check a couple times. Some nice obstacles!! There was one steep rock face, I didn't do as it isn't SWB friendly. (quite a few rollovers there when traction is lost and the front locker locates gravity.  But XJ's do OK if the driver is a good one. the 120" of MJ WB would have made it nearly a cake walk!! Other then that, I made one tough climb right at the end where all other 93" WB's took a tug or a cable...But not me!! photobucket USERNAME: brianjonfund PASSWORD: jeeper http://www.youtube.com/my_videos?pi=0 CW
