    Now THIS is a thought! The only thing I don't like about my 8.25 is the front of the is SO low and bulky. Anyone done this?

    I've got a later 8.25 with the 29 spline shafts and an Aussie Locker and I'm happy as a clam; but then again I'm not punishing it really hard with 32" tires. People will tell you that it's nearly as strong as a D44...

    All done for now; still need to wire up the reverse lights and bring the bumper forward to meet the wheel well.

    What started as a rear bumper project quickly escalated into some restoration work. This truck really was/is a survivor (rust-wise.)

    Had the AX-15 rebuilt locally.

    I beat the original 3:07 D35 to the punch and swapped in a 3:54 Chryco 8.25" Picked up another disco HP30 to match gears

    Ye olde original engine was on it's last legs so I picked up a ~50k H.O. engine from a '95 XJ. I changed every gasket on it before swapping it. Before: Donor: After! I ended up modifying the Renix intake to work with the H.O. head and exhaust manifold. All it took was an EGR delete plate and welded-shut tube, some minor grinding at the corners of the intake, and a trimmed gasket.

    Added about an inch of lift with some Chevy drop shackles and some spacers, trimmed the fenders, and installed some 32x11.50 15s

    This isn't really a build thread so much as a journal. I posted up as many of the old pictures I've got from over the years. Its been a great little truck and has many memories attached to it. TDi swap, frame stiffening stuff begins on page 5, three-link stuff begins on page 6. Got her in October of '07 from another CC member: KYMJ A nice, rust-free, 4x4 MJ with all the right stuff for a good price. Had to jump on it!

    I keep getting this... "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." And "save target as" and "copy shortcut" are greyed out when I right click... (explorer) I'll try chrome right quick
