Aaaand never mind. They said there's no room for the mechanical pump with this kit. -
Diesel (TDi) conversion discussion & research

No part of a project that size can be expected to be cheap. I'm looking at skipping the electronics and converting an ALH (same mounting the BEW they're using) to an mTDI. So I might save a few bucks there but it's still gonna cost 6-8k in the end. -

I've been waiting for the XJ variant to enter production. They've been doing TJ/YJ/JK conversions for some time. -
MY rear bumper build is finally underway
A-man930 replied to A-man930's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I'm going to officially put it out there: there are many, many things about this project that I am NOT satisfied with (fit and finish type stuff mainly.) I've underestimated the effects of being a fab newbie has on a project like this. I just keep telling myself it's gonna turn out fine and I'll be better equipped for the next one! -

only 110mm 10x1.5 bolts I could find weren't threaded quite far enough so I cut them a little further. Crude, but it'll work. -

Here's one mount mocked up. This is going to take a while. -

The frame is staying open. I just added material to the sides to fill in the "low spots" around the shackle mounts. These are the mounts (guess I never put up a picture of them.) Bed was cut to allow for their height. -

The mounts are going to pass completely through the box tube of the bumper. -

You'll probably never know the difference man. I like the thought of added material. If I had a ton of extra time on my hands I'd weld in a couple sections of tube to further strengthen the box but I'm trying to control myself [emoji12] -

These will make the rearmost section of the frame a flush surface. -

Long, long overdue progress. Decided to mirror the factory bumper mounting bolt locations on the inboard sides of the frame. Making the reliefs in the bed taller and wider was quite time consuming. -
Or has anyone had this problem before? https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t1.0-9/10394542_10100278783363015_588812047981845905_n.jpg I'm looking at taking on a major body repair and repaint job on the ol' girl and the tailgate is dented fairly significantly in several places. Am I in uncharted waters?
