  1. Anybody heard from TAZ? I suppose with school and the new job, he's a tad bit busy right now. Just surprised we haven't heard from him on the new job.
  2. wow, that looks crazy nice, and for $800?! awesome. how's the rust? interior? what did you do with the sweet turbine wheels and BFG M/T's?
  3. HellCreek's screen name is...............................HellCreek.
  4. call me a conspiracy theorist, but i think that might be a bit naive to think they can't. i'd be more surprised they couldn't than i would be that they could. i know Chloe from "24" could hack in to it!
  5. meh, well this is going too far down the political path, which was not my intent of posting the link.
  6. Just because something is in a TOS agreement doesn't mean it is binding. There are limitations on what is allowed. Agreed. And who sets the limitations? The gov't. If it was a TOS with somebody in the private sector, I probably wouldn't care at all. I just posted the link because I don't like how in 8 mos time the federal gov't has become, IMO, so invasive in our day to day lives, i.e. so much more so than before. :dunno:
  7. :wavey: :fool: HELLLOOO! McFlyyyyy!!! I don't think anyone disagrees that a lot of things these talk show guys rant on has some serious spin to get ratings, or at least that the more demonstrative any of those talk show guys are the better the ratings are. But this thread is about the GOV'T! claiming rights to any and all info on your computer if you log on to that site. As I understood it, it's not only a site for dealers to report trade-ins but a site that the public can access to get info about the program. So get off your soapbox about WHO is talking about it, it's the topic that we're talking about here. :shake: Hey Cheyenne, glad you thought the same I did about that Kimberly chick...........SHAAA-MOKIN! The TOS agrement is just stupid. Glenn Beck's ranting and raving is just showboating to get the conservative crowd in a frenzy. (Looks like it is working though!) He is good at at what he does but when all is said and done it is just horse hockey. P.S. You might want to get off the soap box yourself. It's my thread so it's my soapbox LOL. Seriously though, how can you blow off the TOS as "no big deal"? You haven't stated your opinion on the gov't being able to have full access and rights to the info on the computer of a dealership or individual that logs on to the site. You've just been "ranting and raving" about Glenn Beck's "ranting and raving".
  8. umm, how do you spin that? :agree: the video was about the gov't having full access to your computer, not him spinning an opinion on something?? It is a web site for dealers to register the trades. So some 40 yo virgin went nuts on the TOS agreement. Big deal. But it does give Beck something to spin and ramble on about. :wavey: :fool: HELLLOOO! McFlyyyyy!!! I don't think anyone disagrees that a lot of things these talk show guys rant on has some serious spin to get ratings, or at least that the more demonstrative any of those talk show guys are the better the ratings are. 16. did you ask the guy if he'd sell the whole thing? windshield says 278k, so seems like it'd be perfect to get the whole thing and swap a new motor in. :brows:

  18. She's refuses to have one of those things. I can't blame her. If it happens that a C section has to be done, she's gonna get completely knocked out. I'll get pics as soon as there's something to take a pic of. :D First of all, a huge congrats on a healthy delivery, she's super cute for sure! As for the "no epiderral", LOL, my wife always said "why the hell would you NOT get one?! you don't get a medal, a girl scout badge for courage or even a friggin discount!".
  19. lurker......
  20. HELL YEAH!!!!
  21. i'm not defending the program at all, but you can't look at as JUST (3) mpg. going from 17 to 20 mpg is a 17.6% increase. that's a pretty substantial savings in your fuel bill, or hypothetically if the american gas consumption was reduced by even a portion of that, that's a positive thing.
  22. i haven't put a ton of thought in to this, and only know just the surface level information of the program. that being said, it REALLY seems like gov't kneejerked on this w/out much thought at all either. When I read Wildman's post about giving the vehicles to other agencies, that made a lot of sense to me. you've got cities, towns and even states on the verge of bankruptcy. i'm sure they could all use some of these vehicles like that grand cherokee that seemed to be in excellent shape. what about FEMA, the military, the Red Cross, or other similar agencies? tech and trade schools? here's another thought. american vehicles bring big money in south america and other parts of the world. why doesn't the govt export them for $4500 each. hmm, stimulate the economy a little at a break even cost, or at least a minimal one and not at a cost of billions of dollars to the taxpayers. or why not turn around and put that money to the school system for teacher bonuses, maybe cancer research, or any of another 1000 ideas. it just seems that with a little more thought there could have been a substantial amount of "additional stimulus" or positive effect from our tax dollars aside from selling 100,000 new cars. :dunno:
  23. Pete, PM sent on the metallic silver one.
  24. when a dealer gives you inflated trade in money, don't bet on a great purchase price. the front end profit is paying for the back end loss they will take on the inflated trade-in.
