GM 173 V6 swap for AMC 258 I6
tkgibbs27 replied to tkgibbs27's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
 nobody is going to answer my question? the delivery date wouldn't tell you anything about the engine bay and if the firewall was interchanged then would it? delivery date was 8-1-86. i am trying everything i can to figure out if it was a late or early 86. except for pulling the motor out. and that doesn't cost any money. -
 i like those interpretations. i tried explaining that to one of my friends over dinner one night. that was basically all we talked about was jeeps. his dad has an ol' willys he's rebuilding. but he's got so much other crap he's doing he doesn't have time to deal with it. he's in his late 40's just about to retire. we had this huge get together for a birthday, had dinner then went gambling, it was a good night for gambling too. first time i had been gambling, made about 50$ to 60$ in about a ten minute span, spanish 21, first time playing it.

priority comes in, is sorted and bagged or put in cbens, then sent out as soon as that locations truck is unloaded and ready to depart back to the city they came from. it doesn't stay in the post office very long, unless it's 3rd class mail, then they set it aside and ship it for another day. first class and second class letters are sent out that day or in my hours it was sent out on trucks through the night, and in the morning for delivery to the mail boxes. but the post office ships both packages and mail all together, unlike dhl, ups, and fedex. so the usps has to sort all this mail, which they usually will run through the machines more than once if they are letters and are hand sorted for priority packages and machine sorted for others. ups and fedex both run through the post office as well. not necessarily everyone, i don't remember, but i know they will run packages through the post office at times

squid, smelt, shad, or eel maybe? those are real good baits for sturgeon. i might go sturgeon fishing with my dad tomorrow, since i didn't go today.

The Tamaskan is a rare breed that has just recently been introduced into the United States. There are only a few potential breeders in the US and only one that has Tamaskans of breeding age and that is J & J Kennels in New Jersey. I expect to get a female sometime this summer, from a recent breeding in the UK. But I will not be breeding for at least a year and a half or so as puppies are not bred until approximately 18 months to 2 years of age. A Tamaskan puppy right now is approximately 1800 – 2000.00 If you import from overseas, this does not include the cost of shipping.... Mikko was 10 weeks old when he arrived, already weighing 10 lbs, and shipping was approximately 1500.00 at that time. that's some information a lady sent me about them. said she lives in around the portland/beaverton area, which is about a four hour drive from me. so it's looking good. but it'll be sometime.

its 47* right now, it's only 10o'clock and cloudy.

my dad must have seen that or something because he just came in here about two hours ago "come on, let's go sturgeon fishin" i can't because i gotta finish some homework for the end of the semester. so i am going sturgeon fishin' tomorrow. ha chances are we won't get anything that big though. that's a beast.
-
that's not a bad idea. i might just have to do that. my dad came home from fishin' one afternoon and the dogs were in the yard, the neighbor was standing over in his yard. my dad told him our yard was looking pretty $#!&ty because of his dogs and he got all cocky and wanted to fight over it. haha. he came over about a month later and apologized. it wasn't the first time he'd confronted the guy about it. just not to long ago he was blowing some stuff into our yard with a leaf blower so my dad called the cops on him cause he's sick of $#!&. he's a mormon to add at that. my dad's looking for a new home anyways, with some acres and a shop so he can work on his cars. he's got 2002 model bmw and a triumph spitfire mkII. it'd give me a place to work on my mj. that's how my old collie was. well we would let her run around loose because we lived out in the country at the time and everyone in town knew each other and their animals so it was no big deal. and then there were a few new yuppies that moved into town and we started to get complaints so every time she'd run off we'd chain her up. not to long she started sticking around the house and stopped running off. she hated that chain.

i wasn't accusing you. i took that off of the the second link that was talking about registered breeders, figured i might as well post it so if anyone else comes around an is thinking about trying to get this dog they'll know those two aren't registered. my dad had raised several pure wolf pups, so i got a good talking about being the alpha male when raising a wolf. i was looking at the wolf hybrids as well. i don't want something i have to prove alpha over yet. i thought more of it when i get a bit older and have some property of my own. i live in a residential area, pretty populated, and right next to a real big a$$hole. we already have enough problems with him, maybe a wolf hybrid would get him to knock off some of the crap he pulls. mostly letting his dogs come use our yard for a bathroom ruining our lawn.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that IceWind Farms in NJ and Right Puppy Kennel in North Carolina are not registered breeders of Tamaskan dogs. hmm both of them on the first link are no good.
-
already looked at those. on the first link, the rightpuppy kennel isn't a registered breeder anymore, i read they breached a contract.
-
it's a alaskan malamute, siberian husky and german shepard mix. they were bred to look like wolves. wolf dogs without the wolf is what they say. that's why i want one so bad. not sure about the price, i am trying to find out myself, ha. i found an email on a website that said to email if you had questions about these dogs in the :USAflag: asked them what about is the price range and where the breeders were located. just found this: There are only 18 Tamaskan in the USA at present. (not sure when they last updated their page though.)
-
any of you guys seen any registered breeders for this dog? i've been looking around to find somebody, but not much luck. they just started breeding these dogs back in like 2002, but they originated from finland. i want one pretty bad. they do have breeders here in the :USAflag: for these dogs, so i know they are here. somewhere. here's a link to what they look like. http://www.doublejkennels.com/kennel/Po ... wolfie.jpg

it needs to be like that, now. the nights haven't been as cold here lately. tops was 66* around noon. when is the first day of spring exactly? it gets up into the hundreds during summer time here.
-
it was in the low 60's here today. it has been a really nice day, sun has been out all day. it's supposed to be 63 tomorrow.

the slot where the cigarette lighter goes into lights up and the green lights up, but i think it's a single bulb doing it all. i don't know where the bulb is though.

calling all 2.8 to 4.0 swappers
tkgibbs27 replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
it might. if you want to take some measurements, i would like to know what they are. for some reason the engine bay of an 86 that had a 2.5 that i looked at awhile back looked smaller than the one i have, even the front end looked shorter. -

haha i understand that, and i have BFH, but if i don't have to use it then all the better. people have said mid 86 they interchanged the firewall to fit the 4.0L, i just want to know how i can find out, without ripping out the motor and given it a try then. -

tkgibbs27 replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
are there any indications that you guys noticed while doing the swap to know if that 86 had the firewall interchange for the 4.0L? the best way of telling, has been destroyed basically, the sticker on the door. if so, there's a auto 4.0L mj sitting at a gas station here it's not a 4x4 though (it's been there for awhile), the guys also uses the station for a car lot. if i can find out if the firewall in my 86 was one of the ones that had been changed, i will go talk to the guy and see what he wants for it, and do a 4.0L swap myself.
