:agree: Take the IAC out and clean it and the throttle body real well. The "stepping on the brake" things has me thinking that there may be a vacuum leak issue somewhere though too...possibly in the booster. Thats what had me thinking it was the IAC. It basically is a controlled vacuum leak.. If it was a regular vac leak it would have a fast idle all the time. If its (IAC) is stuck shut, the loss in vac when you step on the brake will cause a higher idle.Even in a correctly working system youll get a change of idle when the brake peddle is depressed.. If the booster is leaking it would be just like any other vac leak and keep the idle high at all times. I could be wrong but thats how I see it.

Fuel line check valve...
jtdesigns replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yelp thats what I was thinking. Cool... Didnt know that! I was thinking of splicing one right before the fuel filter. Thanks guys! -
looks like a few krispy cream doughnuts... looks as unsafe as riding with Mini Beast...

Just wondering if our trucks have any sort of check valve in the output side of the fuel system. If not I think I'll rig one in mine just to see if it changes anything.. Not that I have a problem, just for,,, we'll say scientific research.

I don't understand how the fuel pump has much to do with this if it'll stay running when the keys in the crank position even after jumping the resistor. Plus he's had his hands on the switch and could have either A: installed it incorrectly, or B: gotten a bad switch. I do agree with cleaning the grounds even though they look good ... but I still think its in the switch.. Couldn't he test for continuity while the switch is being turned? It just sounds to much like the most obvious thing...

Where is the water getting in?
jtdesigns replied to flint54's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thats right at the rocker isnt it? You might be able to get a can of Great Stuff (a can of expanding foam) and a longer tube to fit the supplied tube and squirt that junk into your rockers. As far as I know it doesnt hold moisture and when it expands and cures, cut the excess off, then put some high grade seem sealer (the stuff you scraped off) over any exposed areas. Warning..... Great stuff is VERY sticky and messy........(were some latex gloves or youll be picking that crap off your hands for weeks) one more thing,, they make this stuff called Tiger Hair. Its a body filler (bondo) that has fiberglass strands mixed into it that you can replace the metal with.. Not the best choice but I've done it before on rusted rear quarters and rockers when the owner don't want to come off the hip and have it done right.. I'm still left wondering how the water got there in the first place??? :hmm: -
I say go for it,,, just don't make it all ghey looking.. You going to make it tall enuff to walk in?? And what about the pooper station?? You going to put a holding tank under the bed? If you could just get big enuff telescoping poles you could put four at each corner and make the roof a tunel (spelling??) cover, so when you drop it, the sides can just fold in and it'll look like you just had a bed cover on. Oh yeah don't forget to get you an AC unit to slap on the top!

ez-out it,, or get you a left hand drill bit...
-
IAC.. You should at least take it out and clean it real good.
-
You might not like this,, but I say take it to an investment firm and put it into an IRA...

I "used" my truck today.. Filled it to the rim with some fresh cut firewood... I'm glad I kelp the rear brake valve!! I was pretty impressed with the way she drove on the ride home, being she was squatting low in the rear. I love my truck....
