  1. Took the MJ over to my cage guy on Saturday and he fabed me up a couple of Rock Rail extension to help keep the rocks a few inches further away from my sheet metal..... they turned out pretty good.....
  2. Put 100 miles on the new front diff so I pulled the carrier in preparation for the new lockrite locker....... Use to have a Auburn Elocker but that thing kept giving up just when I needed it most... (LSD style E-Locker).... I'll put it in this evening then make the 30 mile trip back to my cage guy to to have my Rock Rail extensions bent up and welded on......... heading back to IVY on December 7th and I have to keep those rocks further away from my rockers and cab corners...... pics to follow....
  3. Next time your on business out this way let me know and I'll gather the group and we'll hit the hills..... as for keeping up I'm sure your rig would have no problem keeping up with my "Daily Driver"......
  4. First off this is my opinion and is based on my wheeling experiences..... if you go over to Pirate or some of the other sites they will tell you that you gotta go to a 60 or your just wasting you money...... I personally don't buy into all the hype..... Even if I put "Price" on a shelf for now and lets just say I had all the money I needed, I still wouldn't build a 60 to run 38 inch tires. If I were going to gain anything I would have to go all the way up to 42's to get back the diff clearance I lost and that would put me on a trailer permanently. then lets add back in the Money factor..... not to mention the weight..... anyone ever try to lift even one end of a Dana 60? My plan is to build a cut down to rubicon axle length HP Dana 44 with RCV axles, and since I hate lock in - lock out hubs I also plan to have a new style Dana 44 "C" machined to fit on the Ford housing...... this will allow me to keep my unit bearings and bolt pattern along with my rear 8.8 ........ again this is my opinion....
  5. 38's are probably as big as I would ever consider going on my MJ just because I want to keep it street legal.... or at least streetable..... Mods will include plating the entire frame, upgrading the front axle to a HP dana 44 and of course talking the wife into 1800.00 dollars worth of tires..... but for now I just want to enjoy driving and wheeling it and not get caught up in the "whats my next mod" game that tends to always be going on in my head....
  6. Very cool pics....... the one of you carrying the right front had to be scarry as hell...... LOL
  7. I'm hoping to move up to 38's next year...... If I can make it happen it's gonna require smaller tires to roll it in and out......
  8. Right On Earl.....
  9. mvusse is correct and helmets are required for all riders... if you look you can see my son and My helmets hanging from the roll bar. It's also important to note that on all Double Black trails "Roll over Protection" is also required......
  10. Right on....... just roll the lip under and hand a set of old style flairs to cover it all up..... Love the muddin' pics.....
  11. I was able to get the new front axle in yesterday and took it for a test drive..... sure is alot quieter and smoother with gears that aren't missing any teeth. Now all I have to do is install the front locker and diff skid and I should be ready to go....... I also mounted the Army container My buddy gave me into the bed..... after some sanding and a quick coat of paint all I had to do was cut a hole and a few slots and the spare Driveshaft and Axles slid right in. I also mounted up the new spare rim and was able to get back in the truck and strapped down..... here are a few pics....... I also found a pic on our website that my buddy just uploaded that I thought I'd include..... for anyone in the vicinity of Southern West Virginia you should come and check out IVY.....
  12. I know exactly what you mean about not going any higher.... my SOA in the rear netted me 5.5 and to get the rake out I went to 7 up front...... I would give anything go get down to 4.5 in the rear and 5 up front but without going to a flat XJ spring I gotta stay where I'm at. My plan is to run these tires to half tread....sell them off and hang a set of 38 sx's on it... then add a little more bumpstop and leave it where it is.
  13. It's true I have gotten lucky, if you look right above the drivers side light you'll see a dent from backing into a rock..... I still have the line from where I Bobbed the bed so I'm going to just bend up some 16 guage steel weld the opening flush grind it all flat and hang an Oval LED in the back. I'm thinking of loosing the tailgate and building one that holds my tire and swings open...... I thought it might be cool to integrate the tail lights into that..... kinda recess them some to keep them out of harms way.
  14. I'm running 36's on 7 inches of lift but ive cut alot more out of my fenders....
  15. Right on..... really like this truck and it's "Stance"..... also with white MJ's they always seem to look "Clean" or "Generic" your's looks very clean..... btw what size tires are you planning?
  16. 91 = H.O + 4.0 + AW4....... very nice...... welcome....
  17. Had a buddy set up my new front gears after detonating them last month at IVY....... I was also able to finished up my back window, I urethaned the plexiglass into the opening then I cut the lip off the original rubber molding and using that to frame the window...... I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
  18. Check out Earls build..... he stayed old school with the body and interior and really made it look good.... check it out.
  19. The lower mounts are also from an XJ so they are manual.... I just unbolted the WJ lower mount and bolted in the XJ one..... I'm going to replace the seat controls on the side with a light..... this way I can hit a toggle switch and light up my entry / door jam area.
  20. Bravo Sir.......... your selflessness and willing to help those in need is commendable.....
  21. As alway great job improving on an already amazing truck. I like the big windows and the lines of the topper.... I think it helps give the truck an "updated" look. If Jeep bought your Jeep just the way it is and produced it as a limited production SRT Truck.... I have no doughts it would be accepted as a "modern era" Retro truck..... you know kinda like the Charger, Camaro and mustang...... well done....
  22. Thanks man.... if you look back on the post you'll see how I mounted the seats.... they are from an 04 Grand Cherokee..... I really like them but they do sit a little higher than my worn out bench......
  23. Appreciate it TMW..... let me know if you have any questions.... I'll be glad to help any way I can. Was able to work a little yesterday and I did some modifications..... I originally drilled a mounting point every 9 inches but decided that wasn't going to be enough so I marked and drilled for every 3. Then I cut out a 2 inch wide piece of lexan and cut it to cover the split between the bars..... then I drilled more holes. My intention now is to paint the inside of the seam covers with gloss black as well as the outside 2 inch rim of the the glass. I decided against the tint because of how I have to bend the lexan to get it in between the bars. All in all I had to source 72 stainless nuts and bolts to mount the window. The worse part is the drilling.... each of the 72 holes had to be drilled 4 times with increasingly larger bits as not to "Catch" too much material and break, chip or crack it. I also got around to splitting my Headliner and reinstalling it..... had to do quite a bit of trimming and I'm still not sure how I'm going to cover the seam but I think it looks better than the bear roof......
  24. Thanks guy's...... I've spent alot of hours trying to figure out how to make this work....... hoping to finish it up this weekend.
  25. I was able to fix my gauge problem on Sunday along with my 12v adapter and I rewired the CB. On Monday I spent about 6 hours building a template and cutting lexan to fit my back window. I was luck enough not to crack it and even got the holes drilled without any damage. I still need to remove the window to tint, seal it up, and cover the split between the bars...... The hard part was getting the window around the bars.... since the bars go through at an angle it wasn't just as easy as using a holesaw. That's one of the reason's I decided to make the cut in the center of the bars.
