  1. Water pumps have more than one seal on the shaft, and are designed to begin to weap when they're beginning to fail.
  2. Fuse box breaker may be worn out.
  3. 3/4 breaker with a pipe, after a lot of penetrating oil. You want to be really careful with heat on that, so you don't bake the hell out of the grease in the bearing.
  4. Doubtful, Mexico would get the back half, US would get the front half, right?

    Uhm, what?
  6. All the CPSs will mount to any of the bellhousings just fine. Just remember that the CPS has to stay with the control system, regardless of year of the transmission.
  7. We're gonna need a picture.
  8. 1991 does have its own plug for the CPS, maybe they slightly changed the shape for the new plug in 92.
  9. No clue, it was hard enough just to find a picture of one.
  10. I know the last 88 XJ I had had one, fairly certain the 99's got it.
  11. I take it you lost the little plastic piece that normally occupies that hole?
  12. XJ shafts are way too short. If he's not lifting, the best bet is going to be having his cut down.
  13. Personally I would go with this one, just so there's no chance it'll unlock on you. http://comancheclub.com/topic/17377-cad-fix-1/
  14. It looks like it's about to launch itself into space...
  15. Wether the gears are stock or not is of no consequence. They've been set up and run in an axle, it's not advisable to put them in a different housing. - not saying it can't be done, but I wouldn't.
  16. Nope. Bed comes off the frame normally, but the frame and cab are unibody.
  17. To answer your other question, no, you do not currently have 3wd. That only works if the diff itself is locked.
  18. I agree... seems like you would be swapping everything, which would be more work and much more time than just swapping the axle. Also, setting up gears to begin with is difficult and expensive... and it's never a good idea to put used gears into a different housing.
  19. w a t automatically changes to antidisestablishmentarianism, because people leaving out the 'h' in what is one of the most annoying things people do when typing.
  20. He didn't say all. He also specified Chevy small block swaps. Which many, many of them had cooling issues. Get off your damn soap box.
  21. I think he's referring to 3rd in the A904 as being overdrive, which it isn't. The A904 has no overdrive.
  22. No, not all 2.5s came with 4.10s 2.5 with 4 speed = 3.55 2.5 with 5 speed = 4.10 2.5 with auto = early had 4.56, later could be 4.10 or 4.56
  23. Do you happen to have any pictures of the AX-4? This is the first I have ever heard of this switch.
  24. I've been around quite a few AX-4/5s, AX-15s, and BA 10/5s. I've only ever seen the one sensor on them for the reverse lights. Also, both of the Renix manual XJs I had would pop up the shift up light in 5th and reverse... I've never seen anything that would indicate there was a switch on the trans for that.
  25. I would look for an 94ish+ XJ with the 2.5, 5 speed, and 8.25 rear end. This will give you your AX-5 with an external slave, a 231, non- D35 rear end non-disco HP D30, and the 4.10 axle gearing that you're going to want. This is an ideal situation of course, If you're looking to match the front to the rear and don't want to change the rear (the 5th gear in an AX-5 will be useless on 3.55s with 31s), you can get 3.55 gears from a 2.5/4 speed or 4.0/automatic.
