  1. I'm pretty sure they're 1/2 and 9/16. At least they were when I futsed with them. They may have changed since then.
  2. I had been taught to replace the PP whenever the clutch is replaced. It makes sense, since clutch kits usually come with one.
  3. That's because when the Renix system is cold, it doesn't use sensor input to run. It goes off of pre-set tables.
  4. They will replace just for surface rust? They are all still 100 percent functional I seriously doubt it.
  5. Looks like an open diff... my bet would be clutch.
  6. Keep in mind that bushing only has friction on it when the clutch is pushed in, otherwise it and the input shaft are spinning at the same speed.
  7. Could've been worse. Could have been a tierod. Duct tape it back together, it'll be fine.
  8. There are a couple other things you could try. Pull your oil dipstick. If there's any redness to it, there's a chance coolant is getting in your oil, which would be if blew your head gasket. Do a regular compression test.
  9. How long before there's a half-ripped apart MJ in there? :brows:
  10. Most plastics melt around or before 350 degrees.
  11. Both my Renix 4.0s did that a little bit. HO idles fine..from what I can hear anyway. No tach yet :( But the Chrystler 2.5 idles fine.
  12. Even disconnect axles will turn while moving. Just not as fast. I can even see how a disconnect would be harder on the diff, since the spiders are going to see a lot more wear and tear.
  13. As far as I can tell, the disco survived in XJs through 93. Then was abolished in 94. There are junkyards in car-part.com that have 92s and 93s listed as disconnects. Although there are way more 90s and 91s listed than 92/93. That might explain why my dad's got a disco on his 91...
  14. There is supposed to be a bottom part to it. I broke mine when I pulled the motor out of my XJ, and when it went back in, the shroud did not.
  15. It's a little cumbersome, but I guess it could hoist an engine... I doubt it. Way too much weight for something that size.
  16. ??? Here in Ohio, a "cherry picker" is how we refer to an engine hoist. Since an engine hoist definitely does not have a throttle cable, what is it that's called a cherry picker in your part of the woods? That's what we call it here in Cheap Jeep country too.
  17. What exactly is wrong with it? From what I understand, XJ belts are different.
  18. Pop your distributor cap off and check for moisture in it and see if it's cracked anywhere.
  19. \ Yes. But good luck. XJs came with them too, which you can use, with new spring perches and shock mounts welded on.
  20. I suppose if you really aren't able to find a pilot bearing for it, you could swap in the input shafts. Since you have the numbers, you could probably take them into a parts store and they should be able to find you one. I have a brand new one for a J10... somewhere.
  21. Still a nice lookin truck either way. From the looks of it she's cancer-free. Oh and I liked how you got your plate blurred in your sig but not in the bigger pics :P
  22. With having a SYE, you HAVE to have a slip joint in the driveshaft.... that's kinda the point. If you throw a shaft on there that doesn't have one, you won't be very happy....
  23. The internal diameter should be the same, since I believe the end of the tranny input shafts are identical. The difference in numbers you're getting would be from the outter diameter, since the 93 would have the HO and the 89 will not. The hole for the bushing in the crank for non-HO and HO 4.0s is different.
  24. It gets better. ALL XJ and MJ fenders and front clip trim from 84-96 are the same. There was minor change to the front clip trim in 91, but it's mostly the grill.
