  2. ^^ Needs an AX-15 in his MJ
  3. Pretty sure I told you. :hmm: Come on out whenever, I don't do much.
  4. $3800. Not a great deal, but I don't think it was too bad. The shift linkage going to the lever on the T-case has been cut/broken and re-welded. This gives it an improper length, and allows too much flex for it to operate properly. The 88 needed possibly a flexplate and/or Torque converter, new front coil springs, a new oil pan, new shocks all around, new exhaust from the manifold back, main bearings/rod bearings, windshield work, new door seals, new driver's side rear door, door locks... etc. That one's getting parked with the MJs until spring, when I should be able to halfway tear it down, and rebuild it up into a nice XJ, with a more me-appropriate transmission. You can see the exhaust that fell off the 88 on the way to get the 99, strapped to the roof.
  5. 99', 4.0/AW-4/231 D30/8.25, 159k Was having issues going into 4wd.. wonder why: Storage area now looks like this:
  6. did you not read the post? your supposed to post what you have/had. the poll is just a added thing. He probably needs a few days to compile all his own info... Now quit the chatter!! :headpop:
  7. If you can't locate one on here, check the junkards. You can grab one from any manual 2.5 or 2.8 XJ, MJ, YJ, or TJ. Just remember the early 2.5s and 2.8s did have a habit of coming with the AX-4 too, identical trans, just no 5th gear. You could use one in a pinch if you can't find an AX-5.
  8. A-fib, horrible eyes, some kind of morning nausea stomach condition that the doctors can't find a cause for.
  9. 1991 swb 2wd 2.5 manual Sportruck 1991 swb 2wd 4.0 manual Pioneer Past(just bought for parts) 1989 swb 2wd 4.0 manual don't know
  10. ^^ needs exhaust work
  11. And now you know.
  12. He just spent beaucoup bucks replacing the clutch, now you want him to just toss all that? And if the master cylinder is bad, it doesn't matter if he has an internal or external slave, it won't work with either one. Let me rephrase. If your problem is coming from your internal slave cylinder and you have to replace, you should consider tracking down an external setup, as the clutch parts themselves are the same. I apologize for not remembering he bought all new stuff.
  13. Was 99 a brake rotor transition? I'm remembering seeing a post awhile ago saying they changed mid year in 99, but can't remember where that is, and the search is not being helpful.
  14. I think you mean 87-90 Flywheel Pat... Pukey and AX-15 use the same flywheel.
  15. Might want to consider tracking down an external setup.
  16. Column will be a direct swap, only difference in the columns is the shift selector. Also, Automatic XJ's will have a floor shift kit, so the column will be the same as the 5 speeds.
  17. Either it's not being bled completely, or you have a leak somewhere. Might be worth it to hook it up to a power bleeder. Internal or External slave?
  18. Uh... what? AX-5 and AX-15 are not interchangeable. AX-5 goes behind the 2.5 4 cylinder and 2.8 V6 AX-15 goes behind the 4.0. The AX-15 can go behind a 4 popper, but you need a special Dakota bellhousing, and you're going to do a bit of fab work.
  19. I'm aware  Just putting up the facts so someone could show the other side.
  20. If it runs good, and you can talk him down at least $750, I'd think it'd be worth it.
  21. Just a bit of tech... if you're considering offroading applications.. AW-4's first gear is 2.80:1 AX-15's first gear is 3.83:1 Assuming a factory 231 and 4.10 axles... Crawl ratio will be AW-4 = 31.1108 AX-15 = 42.5551

 :rotf: :clapping: I miss that kind of snow.
  23. The thing with photobucket is they give you too many links without really explaining it. If you hover over the thumbnail in your album and it gives you the 4 link options, you need to copy the "Direct link" one. That already has the tags, so just paste it in.
  24. I really don't know why the chat won't work for you... we've seen you log in before, just never talked. Do you have all your Java and stuff updated?
