  1. Actually I meant the kind that are bolted to the top of the leaf...with an arch and two square u-bolts. :hmm: Pic?
  2. eBay ads like this are utterly useless. It's advertising a 87-96 Dakota cover, yet right in the pic you can see GMC on the side of the truck. If you can't be bothered to take pics of individual products, then you don't deserve to have people buy them.
  3. 1. That's an electric selectable. 2. The rear prop valve on the MJ is a load sensing valve, to send more braking power to the rear the more you're loaded down. Yes you can live without it, a good amount of people have bypassed it using an XJ unit. 3. All MJs came with Overload springs. It's the short, thicker one on the bottom.
  4. Spindles? You mean the bearing hubs? That I'm not sure. You could probably get away with swapping over your entire knuckles. Are the brakes on the new axle shot? Missing?
  5. I'm confused... 87, or 97? If it's a 97, and a High Pinion axle, it's from an XJ. If it's Low Pinion, it could be either a TJ or ZJ axle. Either way, they'll all bolt in. You'll need to use the brakes that are on that axle though. If it's an 87 axle... it's obviously not a TJ or ZJ, as they didn't exist in 87. A non-CAD from 87 would have to be from a Selec-trac XJ.
  6. 31"s are gonna look ridiculous on 6.5" of lift. :dunno:
  7. And track bar... and sway bar links... and shocks... and brake lines... and you'll want big tires... so you'll want to regear...
  8. This is for an MJ, yes? YJ perches are not in the same spot.
  9. A guy I worked with at the time knew I wanted one, and told me about one he'd seen on the weekend. So later that I week I went to look at it. It was a 91, swb, 2wd 2.5/AX-4 Sportruck. 122k on the clock. Had NO options whatsoever, save an aftermarket moonroof. Brought it home $2,000 later. Then I found CC, and realized I paid a bit too much. Oh well. Now it's 4wd, AX-5, has a full gauge cluster, a slight front lift (4.0 coils), aftermarket cruise (didn't realize how easy a factory 91+ cruise was to install). Needs a new rear axle.. hopefully gonna get some better geared ones. Might need some major motor work. Edit: pic for Pete
  10. What's it got driveline-wise though?
  11. Well... you could go get an HO wiring harness, cooling system, manifolds, motor, etc... Seems a bit excessive over a shot dizzy though. :clapping:
  12. So I was half right? Chances are pretty darn good it's a clutch problem, not a synchro. Soo.... eh. Even if Reverse had a synchro, it wouldn't be shared with 1st.
  13. 99.99% sure you need a Renix Distributor. You should be able to grab one off an 87-90 XJ or MJ at a yard, or throw down the $$$ for a new one. Another option is ask on here, someone's bound to have one. I do, but it's several hundred miles away at the moment. This is a 4.0, yes?
  14. Reverse doesn't have a synchro. Change the fluid, make sure there's not any/a lot of metal debris. If that doesn't work, I would think you're having a clutch problem. Luckily for you, you have an external clutch, and it's easy enough to bleed.
  15. Take the old end into your favorite parts store, so you can match up a replacement.
  16. They're 12 point 13mm bolt heads. One at 12 o'clock, one at 4, and one at 8. Take the axle nut off, and the three bolts. Thread the one towards the back of the truck(4 o'clock for driver's, 8 o'clock for passenger) in a few threads. Here you can either put a socket and extension on it, and turn the wheel to pop it off, or if you have extra bolts, whack it with a BFH. When you're putting the new one on, grease up where it contacts the knuckle, it should make it a lot easier to pull off in the future.
  17. Should work, you won't want to get too close to the TRE, or you'll cook the grease and fry the joint.
  18. I've never needed anything more than one of these.
  19. Will it move in either direction?
  20. When I was referring to space to store it... I meant here in MO. I'm trying to get rid of my house in Marshall.
  21. Did it look like this?
  22. The fan doesn't bolt to the water pump, it has its own pulley.
  23. That is a good point. Who has the equipment to fix it and the space to store it. I've got one of those.
