  1. I like that :clapping: . I will have to look for one of those at the JY. This is what the truck I saw had on it -> http://www.pickupspecialties.com/LED_li ... te_bar.htm Before I go cutting into my tailgate, I think am going to give this a try since I need to illuminate the license anyways. A Lighted license bracket with a separate third brake light built in-> http://www.performanceonline.com/store/ ... dpi=517407
  2. Just when I thought I had nothing to worry about with my Comanche's cooling system - :headpop: . I had a guy tell me in traffic that I was leaking coolant bad - he was right. The bypass valve broke -> Image Not Found Granted the piece is 20 years old, but why did they make these out of plastic? My question is that if I by-passed the bypass valve - actually I cut it off on the side of the road and reconnected the hose like this -> Does this now mean I have the cab heater on all the time or off? The replacement valves are all metal now at between 35 - 45 bucks  . All the ones at the JY broke in the same place. I am going to wait to find a newer metal one in the JY for now.
  3. Rub it in Wahoo - rub it in :fool: . Not one of the lucky few to have that option.
  4. Oh my those are nice :clapping: . I hope the are going in Project Onyx.
  5. That is excellent  . Hang in there Rick; even better days are right around the corner. Everyone will agree - do not hesitate to ask if you need anything. Power of prayer indeed!
  6. James, I was going to ask you what type of dog you have. I have 2 Australian shepherds and they go nuts when I first get on a quad/dirt bike. I can't do anything to get them to stop; its instinct for them. Once I get going they ignore it. It is a very different thing when it is a car that they are chasing vs. a small ATV. I don't own the ATV's, so it doesn’t happen often either. I hope you can find a way to resolve it before he gets hurt. Nothing feels worse than loosing a dog. brdhntr - well put. Just be careful where you put the shock collar remote. I friend of mine got in from school and his dog CJ went nuts. He had inadvertently set his books on the remote - sad but true.
  7. That would be perfect, but I had to use the hitch hole for the license plate (ProtoFab rear bumper  ) Thanks Don  - I just saved that in my Favorites.
  8. I have been a little paranoid about being rear-ended after losing my tail lights to a faulty fuse block - yep, it's fixed now ;) . I saw a full size PU with a strip of LED's below the tailgate {in the gap between it and the bumper}. It only came on when he hit the brakes, which I liked. It did also flash with the turn signals - which I did not like. I am not a huge fan of how they look, but I could live with it just coming on when I hit the brakes to end my paranoia. Anyone use these, or any other ideas on a 3rd brake light of some sort?
  9. Here are two sites that may help; http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm http://www.raingler.com/jeepreference/speedoChart.html HTH - Rich
  10. JT - did you grab the rear window latch?
  11. The can has to be 70 degrees. I now set the can out in the sun for a while before I use it. Never had a problem since.

    Frog Test

What :fs1:. I hate those flipping stupid frogs :grrrr:
  13. Me too
  14. OK Wahoo ;) The seats before (right one looked like the left one before it was cleaned)-> The final product -> I even did the center console (Gray to Blue)-> It's holding up better than I had hoped for! I figured for the price of a few cans, I could not go wrong. If I do scratch some off - it's an easy fix. Be warned - SEM is very very temp sensitive. I wasted a lot of paint applying it when it was too cold out  .
  15. Wow, that is nice. Did you get the power windows/door locks to work on the newer doors? And how :brows: ? Great job
  16. How is the head room with that installed?
  17. Hey Kid, Never realized that was your MJ. Can't believe I'd never seen your build thread before now. :agree: How did I miss it .
  18.
  19. I just used the SEM fabric paint to go from gray to blue. The upholstery shop wanted $260 a seat to recover them  .
  20. Is it really  ? I will go with one of your 3 jaekl ;)
  21. But didnt you do a how-to on your build? Mine is an overview - your's are "How-To" . Much Respect - Rich
  22. Oooh nice and bright
  23. I hope your going to do another excellent DIY thread on this 88XJSport :brows:
  24. I love that grille guard ! No washers or anything like that, just a few extra holes and some hardware. It fits as snug as the old one. Thanks :D ! Yep, a few screws and it came off. You will see what needs to come off when you check the fit - it was not much. I think I ended up taking more than I needed on one side, but did not affect the mounting at all. There were two screw holes on the side light covers that have no place to screw into on our older headers, so I place a nut on the back of those two filler screws to keep them in place. I also (not sure if I put this in the write-up) had to drill two small holes into the metal face of the fenders, I believe on each side, to keep the side pieces snug up against the header. I hope I didn't scare anyone off with this lengthy and ill constructed response. Bottom lime, it is a piece o'cake and much easier than I made it out to be.
  25. I used a grill from a 1993 XJ on my 89 MJ. Not hard at all and the write-up is in my Build-up thread here -> viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8051&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=90=. Take a look at that, if you like, and get back with me if you have any more questions. - Rich
