  1. should have given info on the truck they are going on. new body style silverado. 1500 will tow some but not really a tow rig. after doing further research i learned that the metric sizes aren't like a normal 33x whatever I'm used to(the ratio and all). I'm considering the GY duratracs. seem like a good tread and they have a size that will be good for me
  2. thanks. the reason the 35s ride better than the 33s is because the 35s are a radial tire, much smoother while my 33s are a bias ply tire and get flat spots when they sit for awhile
  3. my stomach really dropped when i saw that. :( i hope all the useable pieces were taken
  4. how do they perform in wet/dirt conditions?
  5. ok guys. i need around a 285. 295or a 33. for an 18inch rim. the width doesnt really matter all that much. i just want the height to be one of those sizes. looking for a mild MT or AT, that can't be too loud. what would you guys recommend?
  6. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant ... e=IR-SHDTR what about this... its a beefier than stock tie rod and just uses the stock tres. would i have to modify anything else. now I'm debating on keeping a simpler approach, but either way i NEED to replace all my steering ends. basically i want my truck to have tight steering. so that dead spot is a REAL turn off
  7. well running 33-35s off and on road i think its time to upgrade the steering in my mj. i was contemplating zj v8 pieces from the junk yard, but after some further thought i have decided i want a beefy setup with the bigger tres and all. so my question(s) are what material to use for rods. where do i get the tie rods. what should i look out for any tips, I'm crazy..... all that good stuff. tell me what ya know thanks guys
  8. I'm confused about what your saying about your brakes. 9in brakes shouldnt be hard to get. that isnt an explorer axle either
  9. sounds good
  10. good find! congrats. so will this be a driver for you or are you going to sell it? you already have a dd xj? correct?
  11. blackberrys suck!!!! i had a pearl and a curve... i now have a droid. I feel like this phone can actually use the features it has, where as the bb didnt do anything but make calls and text and not very well. the internet sucked as did everything else (freezing)
  12. you can clear 33s easy with the lift 35s will need trimming as well as a bit more with 36s... you don't just need the lift you have gearing and weak components to deal with like your dana 35 rear axle. i would keep it simple on some 33s

  18. :( :( :huh???:  say its not so! you have done an awesome job with this truck. so much work, as can be seen in your build. lots of effort. good luck with the sale. what are you thinking will take her place?
  19. if you have piles of d44s.... why not just swap in a whole new front end? i would think doing all that work would be about the same(maybe) as swapping the 44 in the front :dunno: and then you have manual hubs and a stronger axel all together
  20. \ haling the ltbs around
  21. school me on this car.... my friend is thinking about getting it http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/1917457849.html
  22. some good ol chewin backey will relieve the sting, just get it a bit wet and rub it on
  23. found a cheap set of 35s to run on the road. bfg mud terrains. they do a lot better than the ltbs as far as driving. mounted them on the wheels that came on the truck, I'm diggin the look :D you can also see i took my bumper off and started my winch bumper
