  1. thats the plan! :wrench: Not having 4x4 really messed me up. the water was maybe up to my rim, and i wasnt splashing through it. I think its a strong possibility that I sucked something up the vac line?
  2. by buddys dad said something about cleaning the lines... i was in a creek but it wasnt that high. I was still running the truck for a while with the lines disconnected though hmmmm
  3. what motor? 4 or 6cyl? id go through the truck and check for leaks and replace any seals that are leaking. change/check fluids. tune up. then just drive it and fix what breaks
  4. Like the title says my truck is running like poo and has no power. I pulled the vac. line out of the front axle wheeling. left it overnight. went back to retrieve the truck and hooked the line up. Got on the road and the truck seems gutless and sounds like its missing. Not sure where to start looking. I figure ill do a full tune up, it could use it any way. any ideas here guys?
  5. sorry to hear that :fs1: hopefully it gets straightened out
  6. NIce truck. You arent too far from me... It seems we have enough members around the charlotte area for a meet?
  7. thanks man
  8. the vacume line had disconected going to the axle. We hooked it back up and now the truck runs like crap. Feels like it has no power :headpop:
  9. thanks. all the oil leaks are fixed now... and the light bar is long gone. but i liked it too before i built the new bumper
  10. I think the vaccume is the problem. I'll report back
  11. I did use it. And I had no way to air back up.... We winched to the top. Broke the winch and 4 wheel drive no longer works... No idea why
  12. no cat and a rusty glass pack and custom leaks
  13. my truck used to look like that. mirrors and all... those days are over though
  14. don't forget there is a lot of FSJ knowledge on here, and we all like them too! :wrench:
  15. got the front end all buttoned up... took it back out to the property. almost got up... the back tire was dropping down into a hole. couldnt get traction. We had 2 inches of rain in the past 2 days and its a naturally wet area. The video speaks for itself though :wrench: oh and the jeep is still out there  edit: here's the vid
  16. Id say you are due for bjs or unit bearings? did you ever align your front end? either way its no fun wearing out a good set of tires prematuremly... believe me  I have the 8ks in my truck. ill probably put those in my jeep. what headlight housings do you have?
  17. I have thought about this too. It would def. be a big project. Your best bet would probably be to get a donor xj to have every little piece needed for the swap, and just replace what needs replaced. :wrench:
  18. I agree clean body. all the interior pieces are no problem. A majority of the parts you need should swap over from an xj, wich are plentiful in the junk yard. Good luck with the truck!
  19. I just find it odd a brand new saw can't keeP the chain tight or lube the bar... I figured husqvarna was a quality product
  20. Went out and bought myself a chain saw. Got tired of muscling dads old Husqvarna 50 for smaller jobs. I bout a huskie 235, with a 16inch bar. smaller saw for smaller clearing trails limbs. etc. I took it out for the first time and cut with it, and it didnt use any bar oil. Adjusted chain and tried again. It wouldnt keep the chain tight or lube the bar. Any ideas why? I took it back and got it exchanged. I havent had a chance to cut with the new one yet but hopefully it doesnt have the same problem.
  21. Its a shame what killed that truck was a wreck... In such good shape especially for the miles :wall:
  22. I have seen another one that mounts down low on the bumper... looks worse then that one.
  23. I sold a roll bar to him a few years back. seemed like a nice guy but it seems he has kinda disappeared from the board
