Eagle
What seems to be the going price for an XJ Dana 44 rear axle, removed and delivered (not u-pull prices)? Has anyone encountered one recently?
Pete M
From what I've read from XJ owners online, anywhere from $200 to $500 and sometimes more. They seem to vary wildly.
Catatonic Comanche
I paid $475.00 for a DANA 44 that came off of a salvaged MJ that came from the factory with the Metric Ton Package...drums included. Rather than having the new driveshaft fabricated, I opted just to order the correct part number (5209-8169) for a SWB/4x4/AT/DANA 44 MJ from the Jeep dealer. The part had been discontinued, but the warehouse in Milwaukee still had eight of them in storage at the time...
Cooter
My selling price is around $350 with drums, eBay is much higher...
Catatonic Comanche
That's a damn good price even for an XJ DANA 44, Cooter and I did not get my factory MJ DANA 44 from eBay, either! Believe it or not, I have seen XJ DANA 44s sell for as high as $900.00+
DirtyComanche
They go for like $600 - 800 cnd here. Total BS.
Pete M
I'm embarassed to say what I paid for mine  (it was an emergency and I was too ignorant to know any better  ), but I gotta say that $350 sounds like strong encouragement to part with it. :D But I still have to decide if I'm using it or the 8.8 in my '90. pingpong
Around where I live it 350-400 is the going price, but they seem to be going higher for some reason as of late.
RandysMJ
Mine will probably be for sale here soon. I'm gonna ask between 300-350.

Bounty Hunter
They go for around $400 here. I prefer the 'Zu D44 rear with discs for $150 at pick'n'pull.

Cooter
That's a damn good price even for an XJ DANA 44, Cooter and I did not get my factory MJ DANA 44 from eBay, either! Believe it or not, I have seen XJ DANA 44s sell for as high as $900.00+ Funny thing is, I have a harder time selling MJ D44s than I do the XJs. And this is to guys who are going to cut off all the brackets anyway. I prefer to sell the MJ D44 to MJers anyway.
Catatonic Comanche
Funny thing is, I have a harder time selling MJ D44s than I do the XJs That is logical. There are a LOT more XJers lifting XJs then MJers lifting MJs. I have no idea how this happened and cannot figure out why, but I know this MJ owner in Colorado who claimed that he lost his emergency brake by swapping his factory 35-C with a DANA-44 from an XJ. :dunno:
Cooter
What I was trying to say was the TJ/YJ guys are buyin most of my XJ D44s, but they won't touch an MJ D44 even though they it's the same rear except for those horrible shock mounts that they have to hack off for a Wrangler...
