This might just be a bad idea asking for somebody to steal my Commanche with best answer "don't do it". Seeking recommendations for a likely spot to place a magnetic hide-a-key for my spare ignition and door keys. That won't ahve fallen off if/when I need it.

This reminded me that over the first ten or so years of owning my truck I’ve found three locations of hidden keys.  One was in the fuel filler location, another was on a clip that was hanging off the spare tire winch, and the third was on top of the transmission cross member.

Best part of the three sets of keys was there were two different ignition keys and all three of the door keys were different! :shaking:

I have thought of this a few times, and figured any place I put it, someone could find it, if they really looked.  Not so sure there would be a lot of looking, but that's beside the point.  But something like one of these would do the job and still be secure to the convenient theft thief anyway.

That is a GREAT idea! Will do it in one of the spots noted here. THey find it, will still take a while to unlock. I never leave it anywhere out and about for long other than in my garage.

make sure it's outdoor safe. :L:  would suck to find out the wheels inside rusted stuck when you needed that key :(
