jodawill Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I found an old thread where someone recommended buying the 4 hole fuel injectors here, but they aren't in stock anymore. What's the current recommendation for fuel injectors on the 4.0 liter? I see a few listings on eBay, but that can be sketchy sometimes.
AnotherOldJeepGuy Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I got my last ones at Advance Auto Parts in Jan '25 when my local store was closing, sorry I don't have the PN. I don't remember them being anything different than OEM, so however many holes the OEMs have, these have, and they work fine.
JZLAJeep Posted June 2 Posted June 2 The Junk Yard. Our Comanche isn't the nicest and we didn't pay a lot for it, so we have a rule, the parts can't cost more than the vehicle. Recently had a fuel injector go bad so we pulled some out of a Renix XJ in the junk yard and chuckled when we found they were Ford injectors. So ours is presumably the 3rd vehicle (Mustang/Crown Vic. etc. XJ, our MJ) those injectors have been in. But if you want something not used, take a look at the sources I went to in the link below.
Gojira94 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 If you want the 823, Dimar Motorsports on EBay has them but only in sets of 8 for $200. I got these from them and could not be happier: 0 280 155 702 EV6 Long Jetronic 4-hole 200cc/min 16 Ohm (mid-90s Volvo 960 injectors) https://www.ebay.com/itm/283645389229
Pete M Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I got 6 from 3 different Expeditions at the junkyard. early 2000s I think? (the front 2 are super easy to pull, but you can get 6 from one if that's all they have). the injectors you want will have the same shape as your original. if they are a different shape, that's the wrong year.
pizzaman09 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I personally purchased the common four hole Volvo injector part number people use but went with random Ebay knock offs. They have been fantastic. I certainly can't guarantee they would work for you but I lucked out.
Pete M Posted June 4 Posted June 4 yeah, the knockoffs are a hit/miss thing. I tried them before hitting the junkyard and only 4 worked properly.
