mfpdm Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Pick these up at the JY today. Trying to decide if I want to put them on the truck or not. I know some people complain that they get hung up on stuff. Any thoughs, good or bad.
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 If you ever wheel, they are a good thing to have... -Lead_"hate it when I have to pull someone out who does not have tow hooks"_Follow
Rokhound Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 tow point are a must have and if that is all you have then they will work
mfpdm Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 Even though our MJ will be a DD and not see any serious action offroad, I figure better to have and not need then not have and need. I might trade the hooks out to a bigger set I have. Thanks for the input. Hey Pat, there was another set at the JY. The hooks were chrome instead of the painted ones. PM me if your interested.
89eliminator Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 i would definatly put them on. 89"hates it when people have hooks mounted in the bed"eliminator (haha Adam)

I pulled that Wrangler up that hill just fine! -Lead_"has no rear bumper or hitch to get cought up on while wheeling"_Follow
DirtyComanche Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 They work. Apparently they don't like side pulls. Ohwell. I smashed my tow hooks on everything when I had them like that. I also smashed my head on them a couple times. One of which left me bleeding pretty good.

mfpdm Posted January 13, 2008 Author Posted January 13, 2008 Thanks for all the comments. I'll be putting them on after sandblasting them and giving them some paint. DirtyComanche, I'll be carefull when I'm under the front. I can't afford to knock any more of my brains out. :dunce: :D
TNT Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Custom 4x4 makes some d-ring mounts that replace the hooks. A front skid helps keep you from hitting your dome on them.
Oizarod115 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 put them on and don't look back. i never got hung up on mine, and when i wrecked they saved the entire front end by taking most of the impact. [

[ That's a nice bonus. :brows: A front skid helps keep you from hitting your dome on them. Picked up one of those as well in great condition.
