Its near the end...maybe page 4 or 5. I think he said he chopped up XJ pannels for the patches... NICE work!!!

Personally, I took the lazy way out....chopped the fenders and moved the flairs up to cover!! :D :D

Yeah thats my truck.

i found a really mint 2dr XJ and just chopped WAY more than i needed. I cut them to fit and now that its painted, you would never know that they used to be rusted.

That would be why I couldn't find the repos. xj panel might be a little easier to find. I was going to go with the fiber glass. I don't have much welding exp. so I thought that would be a good route. Then I met a new friend the other day that restores cars and almost had a fit on the idea of fiber. said he would do the patch work for me. so back to finding panels. anyone know of any near lansing, jackson or battle creek,mi let me know.

JC Whitney used to sell them. I haven't paid much attention to JCW for a few years so I don't know if they still have them. I found their web site impossible to use (which is why I've been staying away from them), so you might need to call and ask a live person.

YOU DID SOME AMAZING BODY WORK ON THAT THING.

I want to do that same cut out and patch job on my long bed.

I need to get a couple cuts from a super clean 2 door XJ. Did you use some kind of bending tool to crimp in the tabs left on the main portion of the bed that you welded the patch to?

That is quite and incredible job and you have a beautiful MJ resto.

our neighbor used to do bodywork so he had a lot of tools.

yeah just crimped the box portion so the filler piece would lay flat. it worked out awesome plus was WAY cheaper than taking it to a body shop.

and i learned a lot, i screwed some stuff up (i was only 17 at the time and was my first bodywork) so next time i do some bodywork i can do it that much better.

does'nt any one make reproduction panels.

no

only fiberglass baja panels

It was your post that got me to rustys. Previously I had found two places that made baja skins one was out of business and I couldn't access the others site.

I put your truck as my screen saver.
