Any Creative Ideas for Gap Between Cab and Shell

Recommended Posts

I've thought about using fiberglass or foam to close the gap up, but wanted to post to the forum to see if anybody has any creative ideas. I got the bed cap for 20$, so I am really trying to make it work. Looking mostly for ideas that prioritize aesthetics lol. I have most tools and access to almost any (my skills with each greatly vary though lol). Not sure why it keeps rotating, but the second picture is what the truck looks like present day.

I mean if time and money are no object the best option would be to cut the fiberglass and extend it to meet the cab. That's a lot of work for a $20 cap though.

Keep your eyes peeled for another longbed cab for cheap. They are not that scarce. I've had a very nice fitting longbed s10 fiberglass cab on a prior lwb MJ of mine.

:yeahthat: Maybe make a few bucks off of this one and find something with a better fit? Some fiberglass work could also be done to make it look custom but I’m guessing that would cost more than the value of the end result.

I have the rubber boot and I wouldn't recommend it.  It scrubbed the paint so much I have to buff it out.  I just want a window on the cap, I don't need to open my slider and reach through the cab into the cap.

If I were to extend that, I'd make the cut between the little side window and the big side window.  If you have lots of fiberglass skills, you could make it look perfect.
