Hi all.  New to site and looking for some knowledge.  My wife inherited this Comanche about 6 years ago from her grandfather.  Know very very little about it but I think it’s time to sell it.

everything is original except tires that just got replaced as well as a new battery.

interior had a new matching headliner as well.

 

I would imagine this is the cleanest most pristine still in existence.  Seat covers put on day one.  Always garaged and cleaned every Sunday.  Car covered in garage since we inherited.  Please let me know what you guys think it’s worth and any other information that would help me sell it.  I greatly greatly appreciate your time and knowledge!

That is a nice one. Hard to put a price on it without more information though. Does it have the 6cyl or the 4cyl? Which rear axle does it have? Does it have any of the original paperwork, like the window sticker? It looks like a relatively well optioned truck with some cool accessories too. 
Location is another factor when it comes to value. A rust free truck up north is going to be more valuable than a rust free truck down south. Being that this truck is up north, it might be worth more if it’s truly rust free, but you also will have buyers worried about rust.  
 

I’d guess it’s worth somewhere between 15 and 20k, depending on location and options. If you want to get top dollar, a Bring A Trailer auction is the way to go.

I just saw one on BaT that led me to this forum!   Thank you!  It is the 6 cycle.  Absolutely no rust whatsoever.  It came from West Virginia.  Very rarely driven as he was retired when he purchased it.  Wouldn’t even drive it in the rain.  I’ll get some pictures of the undercarriage when warms up a bit!  Thank you!!!

Those might not add a ton of value, but I think a buyer would be very excited to have those. 

 

Now I don't know your situation at all , but I would probably think about keeping it if I were you. I'd put a hitch on it and just use it as a truck when needed, but not as a daily driver to help keep the miles low. Maybe take it to the occasional car show too. It would cost probably $40,000+ to replace this with a new truck, and this is almost new. I also think that it will appreciate more in the next few years. That truck has probably nearly doubled in value since its been in your possession. That said, if you already have a truck and don't need this one, it doesn't make much sense to keep it around.

Thank you for your thoughts.  I own a small construction company and have a few trucks.  We were going to give it to my son when he turns 16 but realize that the value in it is it’s pristine all original condition.  That too is the reason I’m leery of driving it to car shows, etc.  I think it’s a really cool time capsule that needs to be enjoyed by someone that appreciates it for what it is.  I drove it to our local Jeep dealership and got stuck there for 3 hours with people looking at it.  The dealership offered me to display it on their showroom floor.  We do drive it at least every 2 months, more in the summer…..

Yeah, WOW. If rust free and interior VG, as it does look, then as said before 15 to 20K. I'd at least say $10K and up. 2wd or 4WD? Also, a picture of the engine bay. I see 8-90 on one of the documents. So, probably still a RENIX. I think the paper work, might not add a bunch of value, Yet, might help sell it.

Wow. It even has the mudflaps. Dang. If you want to maximize the amount you will get from this and want it to sell quickly, I would list it on bring a trailer.

 

However, before you do, consider finding this trim piece circled in the attached photo. I think some guys on the forum had some for sale at one point. You can have a guy at a detail shop attach it or do it yourself. 3M makes double-sided trim mount adhesive strips which would probably be a good fit.

how much do you think it will bring on BaT?  It’s going to break my mother in laws heart!  It was her dad’s.  She knows it needs to move on though!

That is a very clean truck. Not sure how much it could sell for but there was a Comanche with less than 1/2 the miles that sold for $35k last year.

It's fair to say all the folks on comanche club hope the value of these trucks will go up over time, and I think they surely will.

If I was in your position, I would hold onto the comanche and enjoy it for another few years, drive it to local car shows, school homecoming parades, local events etc..

Then the summer your son graduates highschool I'd sell it to put the funds toward his college education. If you are in an area away from tornadoes and hurricanes, this is what I'd do. Also, I can't imagine any mother-in-law being mad selling a car to fund education. My 2c.

This will sell for north of $20k on BaT easily. Don't waste your time on eBay.

Clean Engine bay. Might need a touch of cleaning, though. Not sure if I would replace the coolant pressure bottle or not.
