Pete M
pump sounds strong. fuel spews out the filter pretty good. engine cranks strong. was running pretty decent a few weeks ago when I finally got to take it around the block to prove I've fixed the steering. then a long pause of sitting. then wouldn't do anything but idle (any amount of revving made it stall), but it idled perfect. few days later it refused to even idle. swapped out the fuel filter and now it might sputter a couple times while cranking. fuel does NOT come out the fuel rail schraeder valve. just stinky air. has the fuel regulator kicked the bucket? jdog
Does this have the block on the fender that controls the pump? Other things I would consider is the line came off on the pump or is cracked. Hows the fuel at the rail? From the line itself?

From the line itself? resistor is there, but I've bypassed it with no change. haven't pulled the fuel line off the rail yet to check for flow. I guess that's next. hmmm, I need to get some appropriate rubber line to redirect the flow so I don't make too much of a mess.

Then if things are pointed in the right direction of flow, id check for fuel flow at the filter to ensure fuel pump is indeed pumping, sometimes the sound of it running dosent mean its functioning proper. Pete M
ran out and triple checked and "out" is facing the engine. so much for an easy fix. I guess tomorrow I'll see if I can start pulling stuff apart to check for flow rate.
MiNi Beast
Once you figure fuel, Id jiggle the cps and see if that does anything. I HAVE HAD the same issues and after a few days of fussing found it to be a intermittent working cps, main reasoning to bad cps, was it idle fine but add throttle or load ot would spit and sputter and stall out. Just putting it out there..
Pete M
welp, I guess that last blast of gas that almost hit my face when removing the filter was indeed the last blast of gas. absolutely nothing is coming out of the fuel line upstream of the filter. pump makes the right noises and all, but zilch is zilch. guess I'll be pulling the pump next to examine it directly. maybe it's just that silly rubber hose has rotted inside the tank. You could remove the fuel line from the sending unit/fuel pump hanger and use compressed air to make sure the entire line is clear from the tank to the rail before you pull the pump out of the tank. 89 MJ
How much fuel is in the tank? I’d hope it’s out of fuel haha.

I should do that. never know what's going on. tank is of course full to the brim. this is going to wait for a bit until the weather improves.
