BentGear Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I noticed a fuel line leak at the fuel rail. See photos. I'm 95% sure it's leaking at the joint of the metal connector of the hose circled in photo. Also not sure what hose to buy to try that first. Any help would be appreciated.
fiatslug87 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Try replacing the o-rings in there. Should be o-ring, plastic spacer, or-ring. The original repair package is PN 83502745 for the Renix.
BentGear Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 I would feel better with a new hose any idea on what or where to get one?
BentGear Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 It doesn't look like that one is available anywhere. Is there a good aftermarket solution. I see lots of fuel line for sale but I am not sure what kind of connection is compatible.
watchamakalit Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Mine was leaking where the metal crimps on the rubber hose. I cut the crimped end off and slid it over the fuel rail with a high pressure hose clamp and that was several years ago still doing well.
eaglescout526 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Wild idea. What are the thoughts of an auto parts store sending the line off and having it remade?
Eagle_SX4 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 You can buy the metal quick connect ends and use some fuel injection hose clamps and you are good to go. Dorman 800-121 3/8 connection. Dorman 800-120 5/16 connection. Edit: I used those for the high output 4.0 in my Eagle. I don't know if the HO and Renix fuel rails have the same fittings.

NC Tom Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 If you haven't seen this: It's looks like a great conversion!
BentGear Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 Got it fixed. I wanted to update everyone on what I did in case anyone else has a similar issue. I ordered the o-ring repair kit PN 83502745. I wanted to try that first. It worked well but didn’t come with any instructions. So here’s what I did. Inside the hose there are 2 o-rings with a plastic spacer in between them. I had to use a pick to get all 3 out. I also had to remove the plastic clip which was on the fuel rail. It is supposed to be in the hose, but when removing the hose, it wants to stay on the rail. With everything removed, I pushed the repair kit as it came directly into the hose as far as I could. Holding on to the clip I pulled the plastic applicator out. Then just push onto the manifold until the clip clicks. The o-rings are super small if you lose one, note that they are 7mm x 2 mm if you need to replace. Thanks for all the help.
