89 MJ
January 2024 - @Eagle_SX4's 87 Pioneer Build Thread- Year/Model - '87 Comanche Pioneer Drivetrain- Renix 4.0, swapped in external slave AX15 paired with a NP242. Cooling- Factory closed system with a HD fan clutch Electrical/Ignition- Factory added a @NickInTimeFilms R.E.M Clock Suspension/Steering- Front 3 inch lift with moog dual rate springs and ACOS spacers. Rear new standard leafs, about 1.5" lift with Chevy drop shackles. Interior- Black with a '93 Cherokee Country wood gauge bezel. Dodge Dakota bucket seats. Crown Vic dome light (had to modify because the Comanche lights run on a broken ground and the Crown Vic uses a broken +). 97+ electric window conversion into the original doors. Brakes- Refreshed Factory with braided stainless soft lines. Lighting- Factory with a headlight relay harness Exterior- Custom bumpers front and rear(came with the truck). I have a Dirtbound off-road rear bumper I have been meaning to put on. 97+ header panel with the original fenders (I have some 97+ ones but they need to be painted). Added a Dodge Dakota third brake/cargo light to the top of the cab. Wheel & Tires- Summer, chrome steel with 31x10.5r15 street tires. Winter, KJ liberty wheels with 245/75r16 studded snow tires. Misc- Rare photo of both my vehicles together. Best MJ story- Probably the day I bought it. It had been sitting for about 1.5 years because the alternator had died. So when I went to look at the truck I brought a remanufactured alternator with me and after I bought the truck swapped it in the guys driveway and drove it home about 60 miles. CC is Awesome! Why? A lot more friendly than any other forum I have read through. It seems like there is always someone ragging on someone else for simple stuff the original poster didn't know about. Here it is a welcome community and everyone has only helpful and good things to say. Congrats on the MJOTM! And the title this month has nothing to do with my own personal bias... maybe. Eagle_SX4
Thanks @WranglerMangler I still haven't mounted the center seat. Trying to figure out a way to lower it and keep the cup holders.
Pete M
as a former Dak owner I can attest to them being some of the best seats out there. the rest of the truck is pretty awesome too!
