We all know the classic joke, that AMC stands for "All Makes Combined" right? Well it ain't too far from the truth... Yesterday, I watched Doug Demuro's lastest GMC Typhoon video (the one with the red truck, the white truck was the first video from years ago), and while on the interior tour, I recognized a bunch of parts, also seen in XJs and MJs... Glovebox latch, defrost switch, steering column, late-model wiper stalk, and seatbelt buckles IIRC. I also know that GM vent window latches will also work on our trucks, and I think somebody also used Blazer/Jimmy courtesy lights as an alternative for B-Pillar lights? Feel free to add to the list. I felt the need to pass this on because I'm sure other people are in the same situation as me, where it's easier to find old GM products in the junkyard than Cherokees and Comanches...

What about the Dodge Ramcharger taillights? Those look almost identical to the Comanche tail lights since they are so illusive and almost impossible to find

No. The Comanche tail lights are totally unique.

The power window/lock switches, for some years, literally say Ford on them.

84-87 rear door switches and 84-96 switches for the front probably do. I’ve seen ford, the ford oval or singer on them. Eaton for the rest.

I've looked at swapping a GM chime module for the Jeep XJ/MJ one, and the pinout was different.  I was even willing to re-pin the connector on the Jeep to make it work, and I gave up.  I've also tried a Dodge Dakota buzzer from a similar year, and the pinout was different.

Not sure why the manufacturers saw a need to "reinvent the wheel", but it seems that's what they did.

Good to know. I’d live to find a compatible connector block for the back side of those switch panels. Those are also hard to find but they have to be an off the shelf part from some other manufacturer

To be more specific, I think they're the exact same switches as found on the boxy 80s Crown Vic and other cars that share that platform. No idea what sort of connector Ford uses for them. I'd love to have a proper connector body instead of the molded resin... thing that Jeep used. Next time I see one of those cars in the junkyard I'll try to take a look.
