Warren99
Sweet, guess I'll hang on to this one then. Also, is there a proper way to take off the rubber guide things that keep the tailgate from rattling? This one still has 2 straight ones which I could rly use since mine are all bent and warped. eaglescout526
You should be able to drill the rivets out that hold them in place.

Warren99
The rear window has no handle, just solid glass. But it is possible to open by just using the friction of your hand, its not the smoothest slide though. How would a proper one look? I'm thinkin about putting this into mine and obv would like a handle. Also here's a cover for a fog light, idk if it would have been on the bumper or sport bar or either but I only found 1. eaglescout526
@jdogI swear found a ford one that fits perfectly for the sliders. That’s a rare piece.
Warren99
Where would it fit to? Just glue it on or? I don't know what a factory set up even looks like, if anyone has one and doesn't mind going and taking a pic it would be much appreciated
Warren99
And which piece is rare, the latch?
jdog
Yeah, I believe someone did, yeah it just glues to the window. The fog light cover
Warren99
Ah ok, I might just use one from a ford or whatever like scout said. And I'll be sure to hold onto it then
Warren99
I'm assuming the gas tank would be worth holding onto

Warren99
Ok, from the looks of the rest of the truck I doubt this one will be rust free

Warren99
Oh wow ok. Well now that I see that, how do I tell if some I see in a junkyard are factory fog lights?

Only three lights were used(without diving into the world of dealer approved accessories)Marchals, ROLs and Blazers. Marchals 84-87. ROL 87-90. Blazer 91-96. Those covers fit ROLs(and Sears ones to my excitement)only.
Warren99
Ok. And from looking at that post, I'm guessing the ROL were known to rust out or something?
eaglescout526
Rusted Out Lights. That’s what we call them lol.

Warren99
Oh ok, so are they all pretty much equal in terms of quality or sought afterness? Or is there 1 that everyone wants?
Pete M
any old fog that is in good shape will be desirable.
Warren99
Gotcha, might have to run to the local junkyard soon. Also, the rubber trim going around the Chief, I have every piece but the front fender on the driver side, which luckily should be the same as an XJ. If I see a limited XJ I'll grab the piece to have a complete set for an MJ. I don't really see myself ever installing them to mine, but what would be an expected value of a complete set for an MJ? eaglescout526
Just depends on the shape of the lamps. Which brings me to this PSA: Check all big three cars of the same era for Marchals.
