87 Chief

Just picked up this 87 Chief that I've been waiting to get for a long time. I'm actually trading labor for it, I pull the axles, trans, transfercase, and engine(I keep the a/c parts though), and I get to keep the rest of the truck. The main thing is just the interior and A/C I was after, but theres still a few more things around the truck I can still use. I made this thread because I already have a few questions and am sure I will have more later.

First question is does anybody know what the switch on the right in the last pic does, the light comes on for it. Also, its supposed to run and drive, and it starts on aether but doesn't get fuel, can't hear the fuel pump turn on. The ground wire for it has already been cleaned behind the light and I did it again with no luck. Idk if this gives any useful information but I noticed the fuel gauge goes wayyy passed fuel, the pic w the gauge cluster is with the key on.

I figured if the sport bar had lights then it would be on the same switch as the fog lights. And yes lol, the whole frame is about to give but somehow it still runs and drives. The front driverside leaf spring bracket is literally not connected to  the frame.

Yeah, I'm gonna use 100% of the interior but obviously will have some leftover things such as parking brake and dome lights if anyone is interested in stuff, but I'll be coming back to here with more questions like if that rear bumper is in some way desirable or whatever.

Also, I need to figure out why the fuel pump doesn't turn on. I know about the bad ground behind the tail light, and someone already had cleaned it, but I cleaned it again and it didn't fix it. here's some pics of the mess of wires back there, if anything jumps out as an issue for the fuel pump please lmk. Also if there are any other common issues for a fuel pump not working please let me know.

A search of the registry does not bring up that vin so I started a new one. 

 

best tear it all apart and inspect the wires individually.  also that connector has to be connected for the ground to work for the pump

Nevermind, I found the connector you were talking about, it slipped off at somepoint somehow, probably on the trailer over here, and it now runs and drives. Also it came with a whole spare tail light wiring harness from that plug back. Are they Comanche unique or basically the same as the Cherokee?
