Dash differences I've noticed

Recommended Posts

Yep, there aren't a lot of rules for each trim package other than some standard stuff they came with, all could be ordered with upgrades it seems.  My 90 Eliminator is a 4x4, AX15 manual, with a LSD equipped Dana 44, none of which would have been standard options on an Eliminator to my knowledge.  However to the point of this original post all Eliminators got the fancy full gauge package.

Oh, worth mentioning tho, pretty much any interior color other than grey is hard to come by, especially in good condition. Same with Cherokees, and you can switch over most of those pieces, but consoles, the panel behind the seat, and any other Comanche specific interior pieces that aren't the plain grey are worth holding onto.

On the XJs, it is the other way around. Members on here have found more tan interior XJ's than grey. We think Grey was a common MJ interior while tan wa s acommon XJ interior.

Yeah, I've seen lots of black interiors.

If youre seeing lots of black interior(course you could be referring to other MJs), you should be snagging those parts. Everyone wants to convert to factory black without painting their parts. Black was only available for 86-87 MJs and XJs so its a harder color to find aside from the early 84-85 XJ interiors.

grey is most definitely the most common.  might not be over 50% of all the things you can find, but as time went on Jeep got rid of all the interesting colors and had just like grey and tan.

So here it is. It's got a red interior mainly cloth. Apologies for the glare, sun was full shine today. Miles said 200,363. That's not terribly much more than mine. Mines at 176,000 and some odd. But this one looks like it needs some serious TLC, looks like a beater work truck really. But u also pulled the Vin! It's in one of the pictures. I think one of you can actually run that. Have fun! But here is one in my town. It looks beat, worn and very tired. Wish I could buy it
