Hello friends, my Comanche was stolen last night from 20th street in the mission District of San Francisco. It was teal with a white camper shell. Please call me if you have spotted it. 434-960-2459

Thank you,

Jasmine

That’s unfortunate. Best part is that it’s a color that stands out so that’ll be an easy find…hopefully.

Yes, that vehicle will really stand out ... in Mexico.

Except that it's already been painted some other color.

Do stolen comanches really end up over the border?

Oh, yes.

Is there a reason why? Do mexicans just really like comanches? Never heard about this for any other vehicle

Its not just MJ's its any car they can snatch real quick and take for either parts or vehicle they can resale. Most of the time it is for parts. Has nothin to do with who or what it is really.

There is a market for any car they can snatch.

In Mexico, a person can drive an unregistered imported (stolen) vehicle for years with no repercussions.  This is because failing to register an imported (stolen) vehicle is a federal offense. The state police do not care to write it up and the Federales have bigger fish to fry.  Stolen imports sell for cheap and you can even buy fake plates from street vendors.

There's a thriving dark market around stolen imports Mexico.

Hearing all this makes me want to install anti theft prevention on my MJ even though I'm nowhere near the border

I like putting a kill switch in the fuel pump wire coming off the resistor.  that way the truck will start and fail repeatedly as if it was just a piece of crap truck rather than failing to do anything and get the guy looking for a kill switch.
