Nelson Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Hello everyone. Bought my first comanche this past November and fell in love with it instantly. It is an 1988 2wd 2.5l. Found it in Ohio wouldn't start and passenger leaf spring was broken. Body was in good shape only kind of bad spot was the floor on the driver side but for a 32 year old car I would say not bad at all. I ordered a lift kit from Hells Creek and got the 4.5 inch lift. As the lift was being shipped I messed around on the engine figuring out why it won't start but cranks just fine. replaced spark plugs and spark plug wires but still nothing. Come to find out the the ignition wires coming out of the fire wall were broken or cut. Resliced them and it fired tight up. and then the lift came in. I had to borrow a friend of mines wheels and tires to get a better look at it without those little tiny tires haha I replaced all the brakes and all other things that should be replaced on a car that has been sitting in a barn for many years. My work builds brand new jeeps so they had Gladiator spares laying around asked if I could have 4. I love the look it gave the truck. After finally being able to drive it first thing I did was go take it to get a wash. but then all great things come to an end and... Engine blew up. so now I am in the process of doing a 97+ conversion on it converting it to the 4.0l and 4x4.
