thats funky. this has the d44 rear bc its a metric ton right?

It should, but being a 33 year old truck, it is entirely possible that it has been swapped for a D35 or something.

oh. is there anyway I could get a build sheet for this bad girl?

It has already been done, it is the 2nd post in this thread.

Also, I would recommend that you do not bob the bed. I think you will come to regret it later, especially if you plan to use the truck as a truck.

oh thats what that is. thx.

I'm just thinking about it. I might only bob it 6" or 10" to give me a little better departure angle but still keep some usability.

OK, that's not that far then. I still wouldn't do it. If you wanted a shorter truck, I would post that truck for sale once you get the tail lights and turn signals working and try to find a short bed. There are quite a few people on here that would rather have a long bed over a short bed for usability.

I'm just thinking about it. I'm definitely not going to decide until I lift it and put new wheels on it to see how she wheels. I really like the long bed it's so, well, long.

That makes sense. I definitely agree with waiting to see how it wheels first.

I also think I might paint it. The paints really crappy and I'm not a fan of the color. it would also allow me to get on of those things that go over the windshield,(visor?) and color match it. and it needs a little body work.

I think Pete means if you want to bob the bed for the departure angle, you can armor it and have it slide off whatever it hangs up on.

jeenus. Yeah Ive decided I'm gonna make bumpers and not bob the bed.

plenty of guys have added protection that goes from the bumper towards the tire as sort of a continuation of the rocker guards. :L:   pretty sure there's a company that makes them.  Dirtbound maybe?
