Tj1st Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Bought in Hobart Indiana rowed it back to Woodstock Illinois. Damn near rust free. Little bit of surface rust on a few seams under the carpet BUT STILL HAS PAINT ON COMPLETE FLOORBOARDS!!! Not currently running story I was told was old man who owned it was driving it and it shut off on him and he never fixed it. I bought it in this condition. I Will be getting it running, clean up any remaining rust I find and just keep it nice. Plan on keeping it mostly stock. 2.5 in lift and 31s and that’s about it other than updating things like the cooling system.

Tj1st Posted October 28, 2020 Author Posted October 28, 2020 These trucks had an option for factory tint glass??? What are the odds of finding replacements for the glass? Someone removed the tinted windows and put in clear from what it looks like.
jdog Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Take the codes with a grain of salt, what's listed might have meant something different 30yrs ago. It could also mean the windshield had a tint strip at the top
Pete M Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 GAC does equate to tinted glass on my 89 code list. it's possible that they ALL have the "tinted" glass. may just mean that the glass isn't perfectly clear. I've owned cars that had "tinted glass" that you could only know was tinted if you had a clear version parked right next to it.

eaglescout526 Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Tint just makes the window darker so not all the suns rays and people can’t see in so well but it’s designed so you could see out better than you can see in. My XJ has complete clear glass and does not bear the GAC code for tinted glass.
