Rotten Ralphy
So...I tried to decode my vin to register it, but that's when the frustration began. All the online Jeep vin decoders I have tried tell me my Comanche is a 2018 Grand Cherokee. So I calked the local dealer and they gave me 3 options of what it was, but none were a Comanche! Any suggestions?
Minuit
Post your VIN up here. We have some people here that have access to Chrysler's VIN database that actually know what they're looking at.
Rotten Ralphy
There it is. I verified the number is correct, matching it to the vin tag on the dash, door, the warranty card in the glovebox and the old title.
eaglescout526
Sounds like those dealer block heads are just going off of what dealerconnect says vs what the catalog will show when looking at a vehicle. The last eight should either show an 88 MJ or an 18 WK like the counter guys were saying. Shame you had to deal with them.

Pete M
and a lot of codes for the early years are simply no longer appear in the computer. a normal build sheet is quite extensive. "MWB-Off Road Truck Tailgate" that's a new one. I wonder what MWB used to mean?

I mean I can do that, but I'm still trying to figure out the best way to go about all of this since I've been cleaning up the obvious errors this whole time and so now I'm in a bit of a hole for using the auto correct feature. Could been super eay and smart from the start, but now I've made a ton of extra work for myself to get things corrected.

Rotten Ralphy
By the way, I talked to Stuckman salvage. They said they are both 2 wheel drive models from the 80s. I plan on driving up there tomorrow or the following day to at least get the Vin numbers and see if they have decent bumpers.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
