Decided to throw the woodgrain bezel on. Looks pretty damn good.

4wd is working like it should. Seems to turn off from lack of vacuum and turn back on when it has vacuum. Course this is to the axle which is controlled by the selec-trac switch in the console. T-case is still controlled normally.

All thats left is to swap the shocks to the air shocks, put that engine oil sensor in to complete the system sentry, get new rear leafs and then get it registered and on the road so I can drive him around and take him to the cruise in. Gotta type up a spec sheet before hitting the cruise in.

Aww yeah, the wood grain. Mmmmm. So 80s :beerbang:

Out with these antiques:

These shocks are done. One is extended out for reference on where it shouldve popped back after being pulled. Nope. Just stayed. Whats worse is I was able to pull them off without any issue or worry to the body sagging more.

I smooshed the other one in. Still hasnt popped back out

Found out these are adjustable Ranchos. A search of the part number and I dont get much other than equivalents and “not available” from Summit. If I had to guess, these are from the 2000's

Got the air shocks in. I ran the lines, ready to join them and test it. I will make a video of them working tomorrow. Should be pretty exciting to see them work!

Found an AMC number on these AMC accessory Delco shocks that Monroe make.

Also got to put this neat sticker on by the compressor. Doesnt mean much but a nice warning.

Great job! Very unique.

Thank ya mike! It definitely is and will be something along side the Sentry that I will be eager to show off.

Front air shocks are in. Pretty easy actually.

I think the only thing I hated was how the instructions said to tie the lines to the brakes and then have them go to the front bumper where the fill nozzle is which kinda has the hoses back tracking but it keeps the lines out of any crush points.

If I raise the shocks too high, Chunk will look like the front end of the DeLorean in Back to the Future Part III haha.

The more I look and see it, the harsher I can be on my self for the job I did. But to do this by myself in an hour, sun beating down, heat rising and taking my time with the patience to keep it straight while fighting such of a reminder to do so, I think I can come away proud of what I did and how good it still looks. Thus giving birth to the "84 Limited Concept" idea(Thanks Carter!). No, the name isnt changing of the project but I like the sound of that title. Heres putting on the pin-striping for the first time solo

It goes to show you are your own worst critic but the job I did is growing on me.

The adhesive is likely pliable at all times in Arizona :roflmao:

Lol!! Sadly this is true.

But if this wasn’t NOS decal, I’d fiddle with it more. That and the limited part of the decal is not friendly to moving.

day late, dollar short, but I'll offer up the same advice I give to guys learning to weld or paint: never practice on your Jeep:L:  also, prep is everything (and that includes waiting until both you and the weather and both comfortable and amicable to the project). rushing always leads towards "I could have done better". :(

the current project is named "2 steps forward, 1 step back".

That’s better than things usually seem to go for me. I’m usually the 1 step forward, 2 steps back kind of person :laugh2:
