Hi,

i bought my mj back on February 9th and have slowly working on it. Drove 16 hrs round trip to the other side of Nebraska. This is my first jeep, but not the first in my family. My dad had an 89 mj back in 92. Family currently has a 16 jku and 72 bronco to play with.

I Immediately replaced wheel and tires, ordered them on my way home. Just got done putting bushwhackers on it, new 4 port injectors, bosch fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator.

Did my valve cover gasket and found out the engine is decently clean, also added a sway bar back in. Truck originally had a bench seat, someone put buckets in and left the mini console. Added a 97 xj console. Replaced all the u joints on the truck, pretty sure the wheel joints were original, They clunked horribly.

last picture was right after i bought the truck and put new wheels and tires on. Had also just got the hellas to work.

Been having issues with my horn not working. Hasn’t worked since i bought it, its the only thing that doesnt work. Pulled the column apart to replace the turn signal switch, cancel cam, and ignition cylinder. Everything looked decent. When I press the button, it arcs and the horn doesnt sound. Gonna have to dig into it more

Unfortunately That was the first thing i checked, just put a brand new relay in, fuse is good as well. They had air horns on it when i bought it, they didnt work either. Put the wires back to how they should've been. Pretty sure I need to trace wires now.

Thanks for the pdf, shows a lot! Drove 16 hrs for it, towed it home and have been going at it to make it a good daily. Knob I ordered from speed dawg shifters. Had a b&m pistol grip when i got it, lasted about a week before i pulled it.

waiting till the virus blows over to go get my bumper. Found a guy in KS who makes a pretty cool one. Hella covers came in today as well

Put the factory cluster back in, gas gauge didnt end up working on the tach cluster. Test fit my spacers earlier, fit just how i wanted them to. Heading out tomorrow to get my front bumper, Rewiring radio and speakers next Week. Hopefully local JY has new xjs coming, going to swap the cluster out for another one.

You could always remove the gas gauge from the cluster and bench test it to see if it has any movement to it. I found that my big gas gauge when I still had that had one of the wires break off when I was reassembling the cluster and the gauge dropped to empty until I fixed it with a drop of solder.

Ill take a look into that, cluster is on my workbench now. The gauge at first showed empty then went past the full mark. I pulled and inspected the connection sheet on the back and it looked fine (found the thread on it). Pulled the guage out as well but wasnt sure how to test it

You can apply ground and power to it and the gauge will go one way or the other. I believe it should have three prongs or screws that mount it. One would have to be ground and power. I think the cluster circuit sheet should have what each screw is labeled.  If it’s busted then you have a parts cluster.

Replaced all the mounts and driveline fluids. Front brakes had been pretty bad as well. Want to eventually swap the ba10/5 out
