Transmission and Tranfer-Case ?

Recommended Posts

you'll fill it through the fill hole until it won't take any more. :L:  it's situated at that exact spot for that reason.  obviously this will need to wait until you've installed it back into the truck.  :D

it says in the book my friend has 2.1 liters

i guess i will start there and see how it looks

i also accidentally broke my Vacuum Switch on the T-Case

my question is if i install a Posi-Lock on the front axle

will that then solve my problem and bypass this switch ?

Thanks guys will do

also is there a specific amount of fluid to put in or do you just fill it up to about half way ?

Fill it with ATF until it starts coming out of the fill hole.

tell you to stop spreading your ideas on using 2-low.

" I read it as "tell you to stop spreading your lies"! Took me aback for a moment until I slowed down and read ALL the letters in ALL the words. :))

Anyways: Team 2wd Low FTW! Anyone interested should look into a posi-lock system. Combine that with a boostwerks shift linkage for the 231. Everything is awesome!

Sounds like a plan I will order a a Posi-Lock so I can ditch the vacuum sensor switch

Why?

Do you do any type of off-road driving where you would need to use 2-wheel drive in low range? If not, save your money and just lock the front axle in the engaged position permanently. Jeeps with the Selec-Trak transfer case don't have the front axle disconnect, and the factory stopped using it with the Command-Trak transfer case around 1991. It will not hurt anything to drive in 2WD with the front axle engaged.

since they don’t sell new ones

That band appears burnt, should look like the one in previous pic. which looks good to me. these  parts should be available if you can't find one new visit local mom and pop trans shops, most of these guys are hoarders and may have one for cheap

Now for hopefully my last problem

how do you guys recommend I remove this broken brass fitting

I got a new one the fits the same thread size and there’s no access to it inside the tranny just outside like how it looks in the pic,  any advice ?
