89 MJ Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Here is our family project that has been around for about 15 years. My dad has cut the cab and made it a crew cab using 3 other cabs. It is also on a 2001 2500hd std cab long bed frame. Yesterday, we closed up the front wheel wells because he wants 1/2 ton rear fenders. This way the wheel wells will match.

JMO413 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 I love it! Amazing work. What engine and trans does it have?

89 MJ Posted March 30, 2020 Author Posted March 30, 2020 We got the meta work on the front fenders done. Now it will match the half ton rear fenders.
89 MJ Posted October 20, 2020 Author Posted October 20, 2020 The plan is to bring this back in the main part of the shop here before the snow flies this winter.
89 MJ Posted November 2, 2020 Author Posted November 2, 2020 Dad did get different wheels for it mounted up. I shall try to take pictures next time I am out there (probably tonight)
89 MJ Posted November 30, 2020 Author Posted November 30, 2020 Here is a picture of the truck when my dad got it about 15 years ago.
89 MJ Posted December 27, 2020 Author Posted December 27, 2020 It’s back in the shop! Today we spent some time getting the cab lined up better so we will be able to finish welding the cab mounts tomorrow, then we will probably make a mount for the fenders, then we will build the running boards and bed.

Manche757 Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Will the truck be for recreational use or a work truck when finished? Why don't you open the hood and take a few pics of the engine. Point out anything unusual.

They are meant to be used. I will I’ll get some pictures of the engine compartment next time we are out there.
89 MJ Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 We really haven't done a ton to it lately. Dad got some bedsides on order and we tacked the cab mounts in. Then we decided to move the cab back 1/2", so we cut the tacks and slid it back and re-tacked it.
89 MJ Posted April 2, 2021 Author Posted April 2, 2021 Dad and my brother did some metal work this week while I’ve been at work.
Jesse J Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 looks like your dad and brother are having too much fun on both projects!

89 MJ Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 More metal work. We are close to being able to get bedsides for it, then it will all come apart to get sandblasted.
89 MJ Posted May 23, 2021 Author Posted May 23, 2021 New door latches installed. The bedsides should be done soon.
Manche757 Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 When will it be ready to paint? Decided on a color(s)?
