1953 Chevy COE Crew Cab

Recommended Posts

Here is our family project that has been around for about 15 years. My dad has cut the cab and made it a crew cab using 3 other cabs. It is also on a 2001 2500hd std cab long bed frame.

Yesterday, we closed up the front wheel wells because he wants 1/2 ton rear fenders. This way the wheel wells will match.

Today we spent some time getting the cab lined up better so we will be able to finish welding the cab mounts tomorrow, then we will probably make a mount for the fenders, then we will build the running boards and bed.

It’s going to be pretty cool. My goal is to get it out to PA for the All Breeds Jeep Show so we have a support vehicle to tow a trailer, especially of my bro is brining one of his trucks.

Will the truck be for recreational use or a work truck when finished?   Why don't you open the hood and take a few pics of the engine.  Point out anything unusual.

It will be a daily driver/show/work truck. No different than any of our old vehicles. They are meant to be used.

I will I’ll get some pictures of the engine compartment next time we are out there.

We really haven't done a ton to it lately. Dad got some bedsides on order and we tacked the cab mounts in. Then we decided to move the cab back 1/2", so we cut the tacks and slid it back and re-tacked it.
