When will it be ready to paint? Decided on a color(s)?

We don’t know when it will be ready to paint. It all depends on how busy my dad is with work over the summer. It is going to be black because it is going to be a work truck and black is easy to fix if need be.

That looks pretty nice.

gloss black also scratches super easy.  it's a toss up.  :dunno:

I’m with ya there. But dad wants black so dad is going to paint it black. It should turn out good though.

Your Father's awesome truck building skills are exceeded by the way he raises his sons.

Thank you. We plan on doing a similar dual running board setup to that white truck. If you look closely at the white truck, the front wheel opening is larger than the rear due to it having half ton rear fenders. We used half ton front wheel openings to close up the front wheel openings on our truck.

Progress on the bed. We will put a piece of exhaust tubing along the sides to simulate how the original bedsides had the curl in them. It will also get stake pockets.

Those of you familiar with 47-54 GM trucks will recognize that these are actually 54+ style bedsides, the top is perpendicular to the bedsides, instead of at a 45 degree angle. This was done so that the truck could have a tonneau cover on it.

It’s been a while since the last update. Not much has changed either. Running boards are mounted and filler panels are done.

When I was home for break, I buttoned up the piece that rotates the master cylinder.

More progress has been made. The filler panels between the running boards and the bottom of the bed and cab have been made.

The fuel filler neck has also been built. It is in the front driver side stake pocket.

The filler neck goes into the stock 2000 tank. With the exception of the ABS being deleted, this truck will be a completely stock 2000 Silverado. All of the drivetrain is unchanged, as is the suspension.
