Pete M
I'm sure you might miss some of the conveniences of the modernity of the chevy, but for most of us the simplicity of the MJ really has a charm all its own and we wouldn't trade it for the world. jroypdx
Man what an ordeal today was. I got my new driver seatbelt in so I decided to change it.The bottom bolt was of course completely rusted and stuck.Welders were involved, plastic was burned, finally we ended up just having to break the damn thing followed by a drill and tap session.A 10 minute job turns into 5 hours real quick. Such a damn scramble that I didn't take one damned picture.Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
jroypdx
So this is my strategy for bringing a little bit of shine/smoothness back to the surface of the paint. So far I've done a fender just to see how well it does. Works pretty good on the smoother surfaces. Can you tell?Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk

jroypdx
Looks fantastic! What's the secret? It's a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Don't use it on anything that isn't basically unsaveable. It's like using 800 grit.Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk

Wonder if one could use that on an entire vehicle to clean it up and then reclear..

jroypdx
She cleaned up pretty good. The rough spots are still rough but its much less stained and ugly.Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
WesD
Good looking truck. I hope mine is that clean when I'm done. I also have the problem with the drivers side rusted seatbelt bolt. What kind of drill tap deal did you use? I'm thinking to weld a nut on the top of my bolt and try to back it out, else I'll cut it and do the drill tap (but have never done this before). Keep up the good work.

We did weld a nut to it, then the bolt just broke.Drilled it with cheap bits and a cordless drill and a regular old 7/16 -20 NF tap.Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
WesD
OK I'll try that, thanks. Did you find any rust under the carpets? I'm guessing yes if that seat belt bolt was rusty.

I didn't pull it up, didn't have time. I have had it up on the 2 post lift. Found one tiny goofball sized soft spot where your throttle heel would rest.Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
