jdog
been a busy week, really had to bust butt after last weekend of not being able to work on Toph with that here is what has happened this week. I pulled the fuel tank to inspect, found a vent hose smashed from the factory cleaned the top, and replaced the hoses off the tank. reinstalled the tank note to the next person, drain the tank. Once the tank was installed i installed the skid plate for the fuel tank. re-installed the driveshaft(cause you gotta pull it to install the tank/shield). drain the rear diff, and changed out the gasket. did a fluid service on the transfer case and installed the skid plate. I performed hOrnbrod load valve rod. on to the front of the truck New upper, lower and springs. new track bar and tie rods, new brake lines. up next: front brakes/rotors/calipers, p/s pump and lines

Next up heater core/box

jdog
busy week, got the hvac box installed, dash re-installed, wired up, have a few wire gremlins but will get them figured out. sound proofing done. l/f brake caliper rebuilt, new brakes installed. I have to get another kit for the r/f and then install the brakes on that side. up to carpet in the interior but with snomageddon I couldn't set the carpet out to soften up. I'm still trying to decide which wheels to run, kinda particular to the cop rallies.
jdog
Disclaimer: if you decide to rebuild your calipers you are doing it at your own risk. I hold no responsibility if you screw up and crash. Been busy again, heater box got installed, next up was front shocks you all know how to install them and what they look like on the vehicle. Next was front brakes, when i disassembled the front end I found that the brakes were wearing uneven, I also had a pull at hard braking. Now is the time to do brakes since its all apart, inspect and found calipers are more $ then i want to spend, but the rebuild kits are less then 10$. Now I have rebuilt calipers before and have no issue doing it but figured id throw the disclaimer out there. First thing is remove the caliper next you have to get that piston out, easiest is to use air, put a block of wood in front of the piston and apply compressed air to the inlet, it will pop. Nasty, and to think thats the back side. you will want to clean it completly Much better Next up is the housing same thing you will want to get that all cleaned up. There is also a o-ring that goes in that second divot. once you have gotten high with the brake clean and everything is shiny, install the o-ring into the housing. then install the dust boot., its a lot easier if you have it in a vise. install your piston This will be the hardest part cause you need to get the edge of the boot onto the ring of the piston, I used a seal tool, basically a flat dull screw driver, be careful not to tear the boot. This is with the boot on the piston, next up is to press the piston down like you would in a normal brake change. then install back on the same side, if you pulled them both off and didn't mark them, the bleeder always goes to the top. installed with new rotors and pads. next up is carpet since sat is the warmest we've had or going to have for the next week. I really miss doing interior. carpet is all cut and molded in, just have panels to re-install.
