jerardisflossin Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I posted on the Facebook group and got a lot of mixed opinions. Does a Cherokee extended rear line work on a MJ? It looks like Crown differentiates between MJ & XJ and groups it with the SJ? It looks like the block is the same, however is our axles double or bubble flare?
Pete M Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I have no idea how it compares to an XJ in length, mounting, flares, or anything. I used a stock Dakota line. plenty longer than stock MJ. other guys have used other fullsize trucks' lines.
jerardisflossin Posted December 27, 2018 Author Posted December 27, 2018 If I am going to upgrade I prefer to go stainless but if all else fails I will go to a Dakota line.
ComancheKid45 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 95 Dakota. Perfect for 3+ inches of lift.

XJ soft lines will mate up fine with the MJ hard lines. I can recommend the Rough Country kit, P/N 89715. Includes front and rear SS lines spec'd for 4-6" lift. Well made. Hooked right up.

Minuit Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 I believe bubble flares started appearing at the same time they added the dual diaphragm brake booster, which would be '95.
Eagle Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 My 2000 XJ has a mix of bubble flares and conventional double flares.
Knucklehead97 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Use the Dakota line on my MJ with 4" of lift in the back. It was like 16$ shipped, which was awesome. Shouldnt require modifications to fit. I had to use an adapter though due to deleting my load-in valve at the same time.
