also I tracked down my amp issue to corrosion at the battery terminal.  turns out amps don't like getting fed 8.5v.

rear pass window failed and rolled itself down.   tomorrow I'll tear into it and see if it's one I've repaired already.  also my tire is contacting my windshield washer pump during turns, causing a leak and draining out all the fluid.   I may have to address that.  big tires for life  

 

on the plus side, I made 4 runs into town to pick up 2 loads of wood and 2 1000# trips of gravel and she mostly behaved herself

yeah, well the daily has to take precedence over the truck I can't afford to drive even if it wasn't broken.

the other day I noticed that I'm already splitting open the rear aftermarket foam bumpstops so I ordered and now have installed some poly ones.  haven't gone for a ride yet to see how it feels but my Jeep just barely kisses the bumpstop at rest so this might be interesting.  (partly due to weight and spring sag, partly due to the aftermarket stops being way taller than the factory ones)  whatever happens, I'm certain it's better than the original springs/bumpstops since they were so bad I was sitting steel-on-steel at rest. lol

so the junkyard sun visor (forgot what it came from) does a great job of blocking the sun (it's just a bit longer than factory), but because the mount isn't factory it annoyingly wobbles a bit.  so I grabbed a spare visor clip (every Libby owner should have a few extra for when they inevitably break) and screwed it to the ceiling

Hey Pete, have you done LBJ's on your KJ before?  I just ordered a set of them and am going to attempt to swap mine out this weekend (they appear to be originals, so getting them out is probably going to be tons of fun...).  Any tips/tricks to them?  I do have a decent BJ press tool, but it only has a couple collars and whatnot.  I'll probably rent out the full kit from Advance or O'rileys just to have on hand if I need other pieces/parts.

unfortunately I don't have any direct experience with those.  I bought rust free knuckles from the junkyard that had like-new joints installed.  but my experience with the rear boomerang joint says you will definitely want the full kit.

Yeah...that rear tri-ball (or whatever you want to call it) on mine probably needs replacing.  I half-heartedly attempted it once and decided it was not the day to try that repair.  LOL.  I'll give the balljoints a shot on Saturday.
