glad to know those daystar ones fit. I know there are two different parts numbers for pre-9 and post 97 when I was looking today don't remember if it was daystar, or rubicon express. Also I would like to know how those progressive stops work. Do you just throw them into the coil and that's that?

I bought the Daystar rubber bump stops for the 97-01 and it fit fine

How did they fit fine? Did you pull the existing rubbers from the screw-in original cups then press in the new Daystar rubbers? The rubbers look like they are different diameters.

I removed the original cup because the rubber/foam/whatever was on there from the PO had deteriorated to the point of crumbling whenever I applied pressure. When the cup was out the B.S. was pressed in and we secured it to the frame with a bolt.

I am not sure if the set up that I replaced was OEM, the PO had a minor front end collision that required replacement of a lot of those small parts

I'm not home but can almost guarantee they're a smaller metric thread.  M8 maybe.  Might be able to drill out and tap the inserts over to the larger SAE size.

Or turn down the ends of the 3/8" bolts and thread to the appropriate metric thread.

Just replaced my bump stops, and wanted to update this thread. I ended up using a pipe wrench to get the old ones off after I soaked the threaded bolts for a few days with some FreeAll. The one that was still whole came off in a minute or two. The rusted/destroyed one took me like ten minutes to get off. There are access holes to the spots where the bump stop cups screw into up inside the engine bay. On the drivers side I had to remove the air box. You’ll see a round tiny grommet just above where the cups would be. Pull it off and spray down inside there. On the passenger side, it’s more of a pita. It’s under the ignition coil. I purchased TJ style cups and extended stops. Since these newer style don’t have a threaded stud on the top of the cup I had to use a bolt. I used an M10X1.50 on each after I chased the threads clean. Added a little never seize too just in case I ever need to take them back off. I used a breaker bar to leverage the extended stops into the cups after I coated the top lip of each one in dish soap. They popped right in.
