kryptronic
Vehicle: 1991 Jeep Comanche Pioneer 4x4 SWB VIN: 1J7FJ36S6ML543372 Engine: 4.0L HO (Chrysler Electronics) Transmission: AX-15 Transfer Case: NP-231 Front Axel: Dana 30 3.07 Gears Rear Axel: Dana 35 3.07 Gears Wheelbase: Short Wheel Base / Short Bed Build Date: October 1990 Current Mileage: 230,599 Factory Options: Skid Plate Group, 300 Premium Group (Pioneer), 130 Amp Alternator, Silver Star Metallic Paint History: Build sheet indicates Washington. Most of it's life was spent in Powells Point, NC, apparently garaged. Purchased in NC in 2016, moved to Waldorf, MD and underwent engine replacement from 1991 XJ. Sold to me in March 2017, moved to York, PA. As purchased the vehicle is rust free, runs and shifts perfectly and has no rust to speak of. The paint is a disaster, and it has a few electrical issues. Intention is to get it on the road and inspected, then build it out. Build thread forthcoming.

I always thought it odd the build sheet showed Washington as the destination because the truck was with the original owner in the outer banks of North Carolina from 1991-2016. Everybody from that area buys vehicles in Virigina, so this new info makes a bunch of sense. Much appreciated.

I was thinking the Washinton code might represent DC. Woodbridge, VA is about an hour south of DC near Fredericksburg.

In the case of my 90, I think it was sent to Phoenix.

I might be able to go off that to get a rough idea as to what Chrysler’s zones are.

I've been looking at new Challengers lately, and recently visited the local dealer here in York, PA and test drove a T/A with a 392/T56. I almost bought it. They gave me the build sheet and it listed Zone 35 - Washington, just like the Comanche sold in VA. So, if you're interested in what the zones are, I don't think they've changed, and you can likely get the list from Chrysler, if you ask them for it. Just found this, figured the registry was a good spot for it:
