offroader461
i did it on my MJ when my 87 pump and box were leaking bad...i got the whole setup with only 52K on it for cheap...its the last year b4 they changed all the bracketry..it bolts in and you can get it cheap w/ low mileage..not so much an upgrade but alot better than having to buy new pump, lines, gear box etc...already have an entire setup from another 97 that only had 33K when it was rolled :D

a1awind
what is an "open cooling system"?
offroader461
pre 92 jeeps used a closed cooling system...no radiator cap....they use a pressure bottle that keeps pressure in the system... an open system uses a radiator cap to keep pressure in the system...much better over the plastic pressure cap in my opinion
DirtyComanche
The plastic bottle and cap do just fine if they are in servicable condition. Typically they aren't though.
offroader461
yea my original in the MJ blew the cap apart....TWICE...put in the new cap and bottle from Chrysler...and pow that was toast...now its a overflow tank.... :D The XJ i figured that i might as well do it now b4 it strands me in an inconvenient spot
