Came out of a 90 Renix 4.0 with manual trans. Can be used in auto trans applications. Most horsepower from this ECU. I tested it in my 87 MJ for over 6 months.

$50 plus shipping from Prescott, Arizona

When you say it will work with automatics, what's the difference between it and an automatic one?  I guess I'm not really sure since the AW4 has it's own control module. But I'm interested in it.  PM me?

I ran it for almost a year on my auto MJ. I think there's some circuitry/programming for idling in "gear" that it may not have. I can't really tell the difference between it and an automatic one.

Has this HP gain ever been documented on a dyno, or is this a butt dyno assumption?

Straight from Jeep. Their numbers. Having had 13 Comanches as demos at the dealership, one new every 5000 miles or so, I can testify to the differences in power.

And anyone who has done this can feel the difference.

It makes enough of a difference that I've noticed a better throttle response, much smoother idle, and a slight (very slight LOL) increase in MPG.  I'd definitely recommend it to Renix owners, especially any '87 owners.  Coupled with Pete's/Cruiser54's Renix tips and tricks, you'll REALLY notice a difference!

Maybe it'll keep up with a rough running HO now.  :rotfl2:

No. It won't keep up. It will surpass it.

I have always thought the 90 was the fastest 4 liter that also got the best MPG.  Don't the renix engines have the same torque as a HO but at lower rpms?

Torque is the same I believe. The peak horsepower is at a higher RPM, and 8 more than Renix, with an HO.

Is this still available? 50$ shipped? Zip is 93444

No, I bought it last year.  With that said, Pete (Cruiser) likely has more.

Probably so, but, is there a difference in the 2.5 and 4.0 ECUs?

Yes, there's a difference, especially for '90 and before.
